That was the thing I noticed first every area they had height, if Bowyer does get the job long term (if there is such a thing in modern football) I believe he will be very much like Parkinson he will bring in players who have the right credentials (good pro's as Parkinson used to say) and where he can they will be be big lads.
Much of modern day football is about what you can do from set pieces and corners, Blackpool looked dangerous every time the got one or the other, he's lumbered with the players who are here longer term but I'm sure starting from scratch in league two will allow him to possibly utilise the likes of Wright, Scannel, Mellor, etc he'll have the pre-season to work with them and it should be a free start.
Just the one thing when we spoke he said one of the reasons he walked was because Oyston would not tell him what the player budget was, he felt he'd done well getting them promoted and safe around the mid table and wanted to have a crack at a promotion push.

Anderson played well and kept getting the ball off the back four until he miss placed an easy pass 2nd half and all our half wits jumped on it . Our teams embarrassing but our so called fans are just as bad. Can't wait until the walked out with 25 mins remaining twots are not there next year. You wont be missed. Bye bye

See as an outsider I don't agree this is an awful squad. The problems has been the managers not knowing how to best to use what he has at hand. With all of them, its seemed more have the players fit the system not find a system to fit the players. When players aren't confident asking them to play in ways that don't suit their style just compounds it. If you look at Ole at Man Utd the first thing he did was take a group of players with quality but lacking confidence and set them up in ways that were more natural to them when their confidence was higher it was then much easier play around with tactics as a confident player is always more adaptable. It's no coincidence that your best run this season came when Hopkins pulled back on the route 1 hoofball he prefered as what he landed on was a style that fit the players better

And yes there are some holes in the squad, the lack of wide players especially is problematic as you are almost relying on
the FB's to provide all the width as the likes of Payne, Ball, O'Brien who have played the wider attacking roles this season all prefer being more central but that's leading to some of the issues you have dealing with crosses as its often just too easy for decent crosses to be put in especially on a break when the FB's may have pushed on higher. Perhaps if Scannell hadn't been injured for so long and Robinson hadn't had his legal issues then things may have been a little better.

The squad you have thought shouldn't be anywhere near the relegation zone, everything thats gone on this season though seems to have zapped every bit of confidence out of the team and with it the players form and ability

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The twots and everyone else is needed next season as the club are relying on the season tickets to fund the player budget.
Unless they can find a unicorn.

You can play any style you want but if you can’t defend the simplest of attacks you will lose football matches.

Goals change games and we never give ourselves a chance to win a game when we are always chasing it. He can’t change the fact we have the worst set of defenders ever and it keeps costing us.

Peterborugh was decent but other than that I think has nothing to do with what system we play. We only have one option. Go central and play all our “better players “ down the middle. Teams switch onto that quickly, we get bogged down with no where to go, lose heart and eventually lose the game

What did you think Bowyer would do? Turn around a group of brow beaten players who have lost every ounce of confidence left and who realise they don't have the tools as a team to do the job? He hasn't made them any worse, they couldn't be any worse mentally, our club has seen to that. Every week we see a team with no strength, no pace, a lack of height at set pieces, with probably a third or so the budget tied up in players who contribute nothing to club because of varying reasons. I hated today but it wasn't the fault of Bowyer nor in a large sense was it the fault of individual players. It was the fault of a ship thats been sinking and going round in circles all season, rudderless with no way of steering the bloody thing.

And to add to this today we played the same team and shape as we did against peterborugh save for one change in Payne for butterfield. Payne is a more than adequate replacement and butterfield was unlucky to miss out in my opinion but what is this miraculous shape you keep referring to that he’s getting wrong?

We won one game 3–1 and everyone wants to go back to that but if we play that same side over 10 games we will lose the majority of them because this squad is not good enough. The defence is atrocious. NKP is two years too old and should have gone in the summer. Chicksen is the worst left back we’ve had for years, O’Connor in my opinion is a better CDM than CB as he ain’t dominating enough. The goalie made a few clangers too but can be excused a bit as what’s in front of him and no specialist coach until recently.

I get we all want what’s best for the club but the squad is shocking. It has a few good players on paper but they are low on confidence and maybe frightened to do too much or make that extra run because every time we over commit we concede goals like today. That could be having an impact too. We make the wrong choices in possession because we have no out ball as we have no width. We get bogged down and lose it with no where to go.

You then get the hoof because players lose heart and expect to lose it anyway. You look back to McCall’s side and when we got to the play offs you had Cullen in midfield, he always wanted the ball and kept the team ticking. Vincelot always dropped to the defenders to pick up the balll. Then in front you had law who loved running at people and demanding the ball. In his first season Marshall was the same on one wing, always wanting it. Compare that to now? We have nothing of that sort.

Oops, my mistake. Obviously it was Anderson's credentials as a flair player I was questioning.

Bowyer mentioned this in his pulse interview. 80% of that side were his recruits.
The owners need to come out now and back him with a 2+ year contract. Then we can start planning for the future. Everything is so temporary.

Going back to Anderson, apparently he had potential a few years ago, maybe starting a fresh in league 2 might be the making of him.

According to the details in the programme Blackpool squad consisted of players recruited from Crewe, Fleetwood, Salford City, Barrow and Maidenhead United. The big striker was playing for Baroka. So it just shows that if you have someone who can bring together a group of players that fit together and play as a team you are half way to success. What we have done the last three transfer windows, especially the most important one last summer, is just bring in players willy billy with no thought as to the structure of the team. Bowyer proved he can put a team together at Blackpool, having seen first hand what he has here already and therefore knowing exactly what needs to be done, he must surely be given the chance to try and turning this sinking club around.

I've gone off Bowyer big style after yesterday and I don't get the love-in for him on here. In his interview he kept saying 'I won't let that happen again' (or words to that effect). It begs the question why let it happen yesterday? On the back of two terrible defeats and now in the last chance saloon he sent out a team to play at pre-season friendly tempo rather than a team ready to scrap and fight for everything. IMO he set the tone for the afternoon. Coming out before the players to cross the pitch and clap the Blackpool fans. His focus should have been on Bradford City and there was no place for what he did which was unprofessional and disrespectful. Parkinson, McCall or any other previous manager you care to mention would never make such a show of affection for us pre-match in opposition. They would have been focussed and professional trying their upmost to get a result and that's what he should have been doing. Not making excuses for the players btw but would hope for better from someone charged with getting something from them.

He isn't manager of Blackpool this season and it's his results here that counts.

    I don't care a jot about Blackpool!

So fair Bowyer has been a shambles here and he has to prove his worth at Bradford City Football Club!

You do understand that this club has no money and we've the vast amount of players still under contract? So we need a manager that can get the best out of this squad not one that can rebuild. You do know that don't you?

For once in my life I agree with Fordy. He may be great at recruiting and building teams but that is not the issue we're facing. We have a 'team' determined not to do even the basic things they're paid to do and from his interview he hasn't got a clue what to do about it.

We are down Fordy. It needs someone who can rebuild next season. Starting now. He can give them a kick up the arse and say you are now playing for contracts next season or playing to stay at this club if some of them want to.

The problem at the minute is no one knows what will happen in 2 months time when the season finishes. Whatever happens we need to appoint someone on a 2 or 3 year contract and give them targets to build towards. At the minute we are constantly firefighting
