Oddly wife is watching the sewing Bee and a lady is making something in C& A as an homage to her team Bradford.

Thats a “ long” Harrington . Nice colour though. I seem to remember, could be wrong, a claret original was available , but one had to “travel” to get one?

You mean the G9 by Baracuta or FP? Sadly can’t get a Baracuta in City colours.

 

I mean the original Harrington we were buying in the early 70’s .

 

Yeah thats the Baracuta - the G9. Originally a golf jacket (hence the G) it got its Harrington name from "Rodney Harrington" a fictional character in the TV series Peyton Place due to him wearing them on the show. Although Peyton Place is a US show, Baracuta are from Manchester.

Plenty of choice on their website, but unfortunately nothing in Claret or Amber. HOWEVER - not cheap. Looking at 400 quid for a G9, making the Fred Perry a more attractive offering all round.

Funny - I've just noticed that my profile pic here, I am wearing a Fred Perry Harrington jacket too

Of course there's loads of other "Harrington" style jackets. I think in the 70's and 80's a popular copy was one that just had "Made in England" on the inside label with a tartan lining.
