Good summary of Cooke. He reminds me of a less extreme version of Billy Knott.
His Dad needs to work out, why he's had these problems under two different managers and only managed to be a success for a few months last season.

Last time we went up Gillingham basically bored the pants off everyone. The nearly season of 2008/9 had Peter Taylor's Wycombe doing the same.
Very very few teams have gone up playing entertainingly. Exeter were the exception in 2008/9 and Swindon / Crewe two years ago - but let's remember if the 2008/9 season had ended when their's did, we'd had gone up, i.e. that type of L2 footie has a habit of been irrelevant late season. And note the "entertainers" nearly always have had a manager in his second of more season. -

We either need to score more or concede less. Either way we need to be better in at least one of the penalty areas. -

Ultimately, it's common opinion that the best teams are built on a strong defence. If you are leaking goals the opposition always have that belief that they can score. The best example in recent times is the Chelsea team under Mourinho in 2005 where many players would say that if you went 1-0 down to them it felt like the game was already lost. At the moment if teams got 1-0 down to us i think they still fancy their chances of getting at least a draw and we go into every game thinking we need to score 2 or 3 to stand a chance of winning. -

Again, in a team that went on a good run but actually watching the pattern of the games, we very rarely attacked and manged to nick a lot of one goal wins. The stats showed that run/luck wasn't going to last. Again not playing to his strengths either.
However I do agree, if we aren't going to play to his strengths, what's the point in having him here. -

I think we are okay at defending deep, but when we have a high back line and teams hit us on the break we're very shaky.
But like I say I didn't see the game. Did we defend well in all facets, high line included? -
Its very possible. Staying there after is tougher. -
Yesterday was flukey and way below par.To win we have to gain control of the game and at the moment we are totally unbalanced and unable to play our way out of trouble. Maybe a confidence thing but hope Adams can get the lads playing and playing to their strengths for the benefit of the team as a whole.
