We're going to need far more than a couple of signings come January.If we miss out this season on promotion we must ,at least, sign players that will provide a strong backbone for next imo. 'Watt' rankles with me is the fact we seem so game unaware,you would expect a winner like Adams would coach his players to eliminate risks through poor judgement.Just getting the basics right would be imperative you would think.Constant back to front high balls that gift possession is one persistent ploy I can't get my head around...but neither can any of our so called front men.Gonna take a lot of patience unless there is a sudden change to our play.

 

There is no doubt that Adams has been a massive disappointment so far -- but there is also no doubt some of our players are simply not good enough, have no winning mentality and not enough heart. You cannot coach that, I have no problem with Adams stating what everyone of us can clearly see.

Getting rid of Adams now does not solve this problem, we would still be stuck with these so called footballers. But he has to ensure we are not adrift come January or the pressure is going to be unbearable and the atmosphere turning toxic again.

Adams, you really have to prove you're the winner you like to tell the radio you are because the jury is out

 

It's devastatingly disappointing but who are we gonna get who has done it before? We can't possibly take a chance on a hunch. This guy has built teams. Patience was n't our plan and I can't see it at the moment but I think we have to keep faith.
We needed a guy who knew what he was doing. He's proved it. Just who are we going to get who is better?
It's not the battle it's the war. As hard as it may seem I think we need to hang on because this guy has at least done it before.
Will he do it again? I don't know but who else will?

 

Why? He’s not called out anyone in particular in a negative sense, but said their aren’t enough winners in this squad. He’s probably referencing the same players that the majority of posters on here this evening have been calling out as sh*t.

We’ve lacked winners within our playing staff for many years at this club and we’ve had many managers come and go also missing that mentality.

@Fordy117 might be an eccentric poster, but ask yourself do the real issues lie with a manager speaking what he sees as the truth, or a culture in which this club has operated within for past 7+ years?

Clearly the recruitment wasn’t all Adams or else he wouldn’t have booted out the scout at his first opportunity he had.

Secondly SM was a good man manager and look where that got him. It’s not enough - you need players to come on the journey with you, players with character. Phil Parkinson had a squad full of them and they weren’t all the most talented, but they were winners. You can’t teach that and it costs you money and/or time. We are now seeing the same results of poor decision making from the club but just have a manager who isn’t afraid to say or show what he thinks.

I’m not saying Adams approach isn’t questionable and will ruffle some feathers. However it’s his style and he makes no secret of it. Players have a choice to get on board or leave. Ask yourself how many you’d be sad to see the back of?

Callum Cooke, Elliott Watt, Andy Cook, Abo Eisa (perhaps?), Niall Canavan and Paudie O'Connor.

The rest of them I don't really rate highly and wouldn't care if they left.

 

Why…those comments seem divisive, he might believe there aren’t enough winners but why share that view in public, it’s unlikely to motivate anyone, more the opposite.

 

Does anyone know for sure what is the position with Robinson and Lavery - here until the new year, here until the end of the season or here until the end of the season but with a review of the situation in January?

 

Contracts until the end of the season. But we just have to pray there's someone stupid enough to take them in January.

 

Id add Sutton, Songo’o and Ridealgh to that list. Eisa i cannot comment on as barely seen him play.

Even from this list, which how many can you confidently build a team around in the hope for promotion and be confident they’re good enough for the step up? For me, 4 at a push….

 

Maybe he’s trying to help them make a decision on where their future lies?

Looking at the midfield in particular, the only winners we have in there are Songo'O and Evans. Watt, Sutton, Gilliead, Cooke, Vernam, Eisa are yet to prove themselves or have always been on the wrong side. As posted above, Parky brought winners into the club and that's what Adams needs to do. It would also help if they could stay fit longer than 3 half games too.

The main thing I think of with him is his finishing, which is poor. I know he's got 4, which isn't so bad, but it feels like way too many of our chances fall to him and he's the main reason we're low scoring as a side.

For whatever reason, Vernam seems to get endless opportunities when Andy Cook, who can finish, is starved. Something's wrong, and I think it's balance.

I'd probably let him go.

 

Some good points but he's probably along with Angol, the only player who attracts 2 players to mark him and drives into the box. I think most teams would take him.

 

I'm kinda hoping we get to see Eisa-Cook-Angol before too long. Sounds like it's got goals in it to me.

But if that doesn't improve things, meh, maybe keep him.

 

I don't think it's Derek Adam's fault entirely, something going on in the background at this club.

Even Jürgen Klopp couldn't get a result with the bag of shite that we have at the moment! We are thick in the doldrums now and we are heading for more decline. The players are useless and need to get their finger out of their arses.

I have zero positivity left for this club. Love City, will still continue to fly over from Belfast to support the club, but I don't expect any great results any time soon. Rupp is a business man who wants to make money, that is why we sell players like Crankshaw, because he gets money from it. Does anyone much know how the 'undisclosed' fee was?

Why do we get players that come into the club, don't produce quality and then want to leave and then they do leave and are better and happier at other clubs? Can't keep blaming managers.

I really think there is something wrong still at this club, I don't trust Rupp, he's a businessman with zero passion for our club.

We sold, Vaughan, Crankshaw, Doyle and Wyke off the top of my head under Rupp's 5 year stint as club owner. Are you telling me he's not made some decent money on the side?

Sparks, don't waste money on a rebrand when we aren't even promotion contenders, do it when we are on the verge of actual success. Rebranding isn't free ahahaha, it will cost money, now isn't the time, doesn't make the team any better, you can paint a turd, but it's still a turd.

Derek, bring in good players and don't sell them or let them be sold by people higher up in the club, stick to your guns and go public if there is anything dodgy going on behind the scenes with Rupp.
