What an dreadful game that was yesterday. Granted the conditions on and off pitch were awful but even if the scun had shone it would not have improved the standard beyond a "park game".

Lets be clear we have playing for us some of the worst players ever to have worn a City shirt. Some might claim we havs seen worse individually and that might be true ? But as a group of players coming together at the same time they are shockingly bad.

This revolves around their application; ability to read the game; anticipate things and simply connect things up between them. Rarely is there a passage of play that joins up with a meaningful impact on the opposition ? It all comes to nothing and chances just fritted away.

Theres is no leadership or ditection on the pitch and its just like school boy football. Everyone just chasing the ball; getting in each others way and looking lost as to what they are supposed to do ? Its amatuer level.

All this by the way is under Derek Adams ? These players are poor I think we can all recognise that. But what exactley have Adams & Trueman (lets not ignore his part in this and lsst seasons "fall off a cliff") done to improve any of them. Very little in my opinion. Theres nobody out there benefittinv one iota from the "Derek Adams School of Coaching" not one. Infact they are actually suffering from the DASC given the terrible injury record amongst this group.

Adams with 2 wins in 20 games should now be starring down the barrel. But hes not because he can say with some justification "well just look at the state of the players" . Hes getting away with it because we are sold the myth that Derek Adams is a "three times League 2 promotion achiever". He might be ? but this far into a seriously unimpressive reign he is not showing it.

He could be showing it by us seeing actuall improvement in his class. But the dimwits are not any brighter nearly half way through the first year and at this rate every single one of them are heading for bottom grades ! Adams also actually shows himself up by failing to recognise a "star pupil" in Ollie Crankshaw !. We could also see that OC had a bit of something to "make things happen" when he came on (as rare as it was!) but he did. Adams cannot clearly see that in him as he sends him off to Stockport County Finishimg School ! and of course he is doing exactly that finishing ! Shows Adams up to me does this ? Also Ryan Sparks & the Club for going along with it. It wont be long now before Stockport are passing us by. What do we get yesterday Abo Eisa yet another player with an appalling injury record and embelishing that further - useless to us like the rest of them.

We need to ask some questions about Adams & Trueman for that matter ? Their methods are not improving the players and clearly their message is wrong or they simply cannot take it in. So we carry on in the hope that the cavalry will arrive next month ? Do we have virtually a whole team of replacements lined up ?. We know from last season that Bolton "binned off" nigh on the entire first eleven and started again on a run that secured promotion. We could do that but can we get rid of these players and their contracts and have we the £s available to replace them ? I doubt it which means nothing much is likely to change ?

We are being massively let down by the management & players of this Club. 15000 home crowds is outrageous for the standard of football Adams is delivering week in week out. Near on 2000 yesterday away to stand in those conditions and watch that ? You can say well you can choose not to go ? But thats not how this works is it ? Right now we go because we hold onto the romantic ideal that things are going to get better. The thought of the "good times" keeps us warm. But I fear the good times are a long long way from returning and that Adams & Truemans inability to school these players in their "methodology" means things are not getting better any time soon and their respect at the front of this class is diminishing game by lousy game.

Oh dear, care to explain why you are so vocal when crowds (not just Club officials) have been allowed since the start of this season?.
As far as previous games I think you would do well to read posts 69 and 71-74 of this thread and it would also have been helpful if you had made yourself aware of the Government and Football Authority protocols around Covid before being so quick to judge.
In my previous post I said I was happy to detail the protocols / rules under which attendance was allowed both by Govt. and the likes of the EFL in our case. You've sort of asked for it so here you go with a shortened version.
    1. The Protocols spelled out what would apply to all EFL Clubs and BCFC acted to the letter. The result has been not one single Covid case, not one postponement due to BCFC illness and ONLY 2 members of staff self isolating after Track and Trace notified them.
    2. At VP games access was not allowed to the stadium until 15/20 minutes before kick off and a Covid form had to be completed with masks worn at all times apart from eating my 3 course meal which it was - if you count a cup of tea as one and each finger of a Kit Kat as the other two. Dining was not allowed.
    3. The Boardroom was not used, instead the 1911 where we each had a table for Social Distancing (SD), unless more than one was from the same household, tables were named.
    4. Seating for matches was also named and segregated for SD.
    5. Visiting Officials were in their own box.
    6. For away games we would have to complete a Covid form either electronically and submit on the morning of the game or manually and submit on arrival. Some Clubs are still doing this, Exeter last week. Access was on the same basis as VP.
    7. Again, no hospitality, the protocols only allowed tea and biscuits and again complete SD and masks.

I went to these games because I felt it was my responsibility as a former Director, now Associate, representing my Club. I went because I felt the more support the players heard the better for morale, especially after SM departed and we had two young guys with relegation on their shoulders.

Other Clubs did just the same, because they were allowed by the protocols.

I did 4 overnights, Crawley when the town was in Tier 2 and allowed fans at the game, Southend, Exeter and Newport, all bar one being Tuesday evenings. Hotel protocols came on top of football in that a letter of confirmation from the Club was needed to establish you complied with Govt. protocols as well as EFL.

Believe me this was not some 'privileged jolly up', this was me doing what I thought was my duty. Freezing to death or wet through as at Scunny and Salford took me back, not to some ivory tower you seem to think exists.

Why do we need a head coach? Its not common for teams in League Two, for all it works in Europe at the top.

we make a hash of it every year but success in league two is actually very simple. Make your players fitter than anyone else. Make them want it more than anyone else (toughest part). Organise them better than anyone else.

there isnt a huge spread of individual ability in league two players. They’re all shite.

that’s why teams on small budgets can and do do well. Cambridge and Morecambe last year the latest examples.

adams will get there eventually if given time but its so annoying riding out this initial period and waiting for transfer windows to open to give us hope.

After the debacle of Tuesday night and the decision to constantly launch high balls for Clarke to effortlessly head away or control unchallenged I have done a bit of unpaid consultancy work for Adams.
It took me all of 1 minute(BBC & Wikipedia) to see that Scunthorpe play Taft and Onariase as centre halves
Taft is 6 ft 3 and Onariase is 6ft 2.
Now I’m no expert but I would think repeatedly launching the ball high to our forward(s) Robinson probably, who according to posters on here is anywhere between 4ft 6 and 6ft would seem rather pointless.
I knew before we kicked off on Tuesday that Peter Clarke really really likes heading footballs and yet we didn’t seem to have the ability to alter what we were doing.
If today pans out the same then I genuinely wonder what happens at training all week and why it’s so hard for professional football players and managers to see the blatantly obvious things that fans can see week in week out.
    Prove me wrong Mr Adams.

There isn't a manager on the planet that could forge an effective team out of these players. They are the result of a number of seasons of poor recruitment by people with very poor judgement. We got rid of several last summer but then signed equally hopeless players to replace them. No one knows the extent of Adams culpability, but I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, not least because of the ruthless way he got rid of Turnbull and his comments about knowing what was wrong with the club which he made some time after the summer window closed. He's getting blame now for not getting results but I really believe no one could. Giving players two year contracts and then changing manager makes the new man's job that much harder. If we are in this position this time next year all criticism of the manager will be justified, but I think people need to appreciate the enormous task he has and that there will be no quick fix.

I've been on quite a few other clubs forums over the years, and there isn't another club who has such a negative overall view, moans so much about owners or generally has such an overflated expectation that we should be higher up the league because of things like our support or expect managers to succeed so quickly.

Give it a year and see where we are once Adams has had chance to weed the vegetable plot.

I am seriously fed up with listening to Adam’s drivel about us being better side, not taking chances etc….. YOUR FOOTBALL IS SHITE. Try attacking once in a while maybe you will get some fans back onside, however bad we have been this is the first time I am seriously not bothered if I have to miss a game for any reason as we are not worth watching under this regime, the football is dreadful and with every passing interview Adam’s sounds more and more deluded as to what he is watching. If the players have no heart it’s your job to change it and put a rocket up them not just continually trot out the same garbage after every game!!!!

That was garbage. Second half we showed some effort and intensity but still had the quality of an u16 game on a Sunday morning.

Can't even get mad at it anymore. Just resigned to us being shit every week. What a sad state of affairs.

I hate saying this, this is the hardest I’ve found it to be bothered about City since my first games in 1979. It’s been a slow drip but everything about the club seems truly hopeless at the moment. I am a positive person, but, as things stand, I don’t see how things will improve. Our recruitment policies just seem pitiful and whilst I realise all recruitment is a gamble to some extent, ours seems a throw of the dice or a mad scramble to get someone, anyone time after time. We change managers like overcoats with nil effect. How often will a Parky come along?

    Billy Clarke is taking sense.

Seriously, he talks more sense than our dreadful CEO.

Clarke is right in what he is saying. I hope Sparks is listening.

Not one person has said Crankshaw is Messi or anyone remotely as good as him. But I fair few, myself included, questioned the wisdom of letting the player go at a time when we had injuries and a lack of goals in the side. Turns out that fair few were right to question what has turned out to be a mistake.

The radio commentators were only stopped from going by their left leaning employer. The BBC. Had they worked for a commercial radio they would have been there.

So what if @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler went as part of the official bcfc contingency? No skin off our noses is it.
