Am all for extra training when results dictate but let's face it the very best of teams have "off days"
There is a very fine line between keeping the players on their toes and flogging them to death 7 days a week it can only bring resentment disinterest and ultimately a negative disruptive attitude not to mention a far greater risk of injury
Bring them in on. Sunday after a poor performance for a few hours to watch videos and discuss where they went wrong by all means and then let them have some relaxation before resuming full training on a Monday

 

Isnt it strange your activity heightens when we lose. Youve been very quiet after last few games. Until now of course...

They don’t work 7 days a week, they have Wednesday off and a shortened session Friday then 9 minutes on a Saturday. The poor darlings if they can’t handle what equates to around 2 full days at work for the average person at about 5 times the wage.

 

You’re correct Broncs as I’ve just said it’s the norm and they have Wednesday off and a shortened Friday and obviously only 90 minutes on a Saturday. A job that any of us would die for, they won’t get any excuses from me and I don’t think Derek will tolerate it either. They can do better and I have faith they will, but to blame the training schedule after one loss is nonsense.

 

I’m not a big critic of R’OD like some on here as everyone will know, but they were two very stoppable goals. The first an impossible angle nearly, the second a mile out and pee rolled passed him. He’s better than that as shot stopping is his strength. That said he wasn’t the only one off today the whole team is to blame, we lost out physically and on the ball we were terrible.

 

Fair play to orient today. Stifled our midfield and dealt with our only other outlet Cook easily. He is not a target man and they knew it. We really missed Angol today for that other dimension up front.

Songo'o - let's hope he comes on with match fitness.
ROD - still so hesitant in the 6 yard box. Looked like they could score numerous times - corners were targeted at this deficiency as well.
Cooke - they knew who the playmaker was and absolutely wrapped him up.

Can we attack more down the right as well please? Gillead has a turn of pace, can beat a man, and is a world ahead of vernam control wise but doesn't seem to get enough of the ball. Don't know why vernam didn't just sidefoot the ball home in the first half after Gillead had performed a virtual miracle to beat men and provide a pinpoint cross.

Still a great start to the season. Few wouldn't have taken this start. Bounce back next week and we are still on track.

 

I am a little disappointed that the club can’t afford to bring a couple of players in if the manager wants them. I am well aware of the effect on finances of clubs of the pandemic.but we sold more season tickets than budgeted for and at both home games there were plenty paying at the gate.
It sounds like Angol was missed today let’s hope we can bring someone in who can match his all round play and add goals

 

Not according to Derek. It seems that at Plymouth and Morecambe he did train the players 6 times a week. That’s what he alludes to in his interview anyway. He said In his interview that the lighter sessions were the idea of somebody else and won’t be happening again. I assume that the Morecambe and Plymouth players responded well to this as he got promoted with them both.
My guess is a coach be that Truman or the fitness coaches will have advised that given Orient had a game on Wednesday and we didn’t that we maybe could have given the legs a rest slightly. Clearly that didn’t work and Adams won’t be allowing it again which is absolutely fine by me.

 

Gutted about today as much as everyone, but I'll be honest I'm over it already end of the day we need about 82 points from 46 games to achieve our goal, I don't give a fk wer they come from but by my maths we're still on track, we're going to have to accept bumps along the way, we have a squad of L2 players and there L2 players for a reason, if they performed at peak every week then they wouldn't be playing for us. Chins up we go again.

Just seen today's goals. I'm usually happy to defend ROD but I'm keeping with the majority of the team today he's had an absolute stinker.
