Probably not shared by all as it gives you a seat on your ticket

We haven't played a game yet this season and the unreserved seating debate is already in full swing. Fantastic scenes.

I’ve said before that reserved seating at away games is ridiculous.
Everyone has a different preference of where they like to sit.
Some behind the goal and some in the corners. Some people buy tickets at different times but want to sit together.
Some groups of fans like the singers / drummer want to be together.
Everything makes perfect sense for away games to be unreserved..........

Now let’s start the debate of standing up in seated areas at away games.
    Stop fecking doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve always found that I get into ground with 30 mins to go to kick off or so and someone’s sat in my seat. Then someone else is in there’s etc. So I just find somewhere.

Not many have sold out recently but even then if they do I’d say it’s usually unreserved

Funniest thing about unreserved seating is when all the singers stand together at the back and you always get one nugget who sits right in the middle of them because its where his ticket seat number is. They're easy to spot, sat down arms folded with a face like a slapped arse while all around them are stood up having a laugh.

The worst thing is when stewards insist on reserved seating but some cretins who want to stand up all match are at the front. winkers

That will always be a problem which will only get worse with the big clubs fans insistence on standing at away games. The fans at smaller clubs then follow suit. I'm all for standing but you would need unreserved seating and then rely on the standers to go at the back (to be fair they usually do) and then rely on the ones who like to sit down to sit further down. Its a problem we will never stop discussing.

“All match” - 2 lots of 45 minute intervals, my heart bleeds.
God forbid the lads try create a bit of atmosphere instead of sitting in silence eating a packed lunch glaring at anyone who stands and shouts something. They usually occupy a single block and there’s plenty of seats elsewhere where you can shake your head and tut.

In fairness it only ever seems to happen at local away games which the cretins can afford to attend. Eg. Oldham, Bury, Scunthorpe.

I was referring to the fans who stand up at the front , causing every row behind to also stand. Think you’ve just identified yourself as a culprit

Happily admit I stand, barring the thoroughly nice chaps we saw at Rochdale etc there’s generally a great group of guys who stand and make some noise, causing zero harm to anyone. Like I say, there’s plenty of seats to be had elsewhere, on the odd occasion there isn’t, it’s not a hardship to stand for 45 minutes - not sure how the older generations managed back when the grounds were mostly all standing!

Might not be a hardship for most people to stand but what about the elderly / disabled who can’t. Or the kids who can stand but still can’t see the game.
Why do some people have to be so selfish just to appease their own ‘enjoyment’

The ‘older’ generations generally had respect.
This is a word the kids of today don’t have in their vocabulary.

Most of the old guard that have stood up for years are a good bunch and try to create some sort of atmosphere. Last season though did see the rise of a fair few young dickheads in what looked like a benny hill chase sketch, which as you alluded to came to a head at Rochdale.

Why stand at the front? Just go to the back
