Away v Grimsby Town

Repeating what I've said before but I've not seen him doing the basics right yet, I've seen a lot of turning into players. Doyles first pass against Grimsby summed it up, simple 10 yard pass into Vaughans feet and he played it straight to the Grimsby lads feet.

I want him to do well I just don't think he's going to improve regardless of where he plays. I don't think he would contribute enough to the overall team effort for him to stand in the area all game.

 

Even when he does turn with the ball he's caught within five yards. I'm like you, i want the lad to succeed but struggle to see what he offers.

 

A quality midfielder would make a world of difference.

I'm a little concerned Palmer isn't going to live up to the expectations, and Gibson is too random and I'm not sure he's reliable.

Anderson genuinely looks like a bad signing - not sure what Bowyer is seeing here, even the guy who signed him didn't give him much game time, but Bowyer seems insistent that he needs to play. Why?

But I don't personally believe the midfield is the most crucial department in L2. You just need workers like Jones, you don't need wonder players.

 

Would say the same as @Birky Bantam, it’s to the right rather than down the middle, Donaldson doesn’t have control of the ball and there might be doubt in the ref’s mind that Donaldson would have got to the ball first given it several yards ahead (though I think, looking at the video, he would have done).

Personally think this was a borderline one that I’m not sure VAR would have gotten involved with - given it’s a subjective decision (in this instance) as to whether all the conditions for a red card were met as opposed to missing a handball on the line.

The fact it was early in the game may have been a factor (it really shouldn’t be, I’ve seen very early reds numerous times in games), though I think that’s ignoring the other factors that will have caused the ref to think yellow rather than red.

 

Too early in the game for him to have the bottle to send him off Bronco, I thought he should have walked. Very similar to when Mark Beevers was sent off at VP for taking down Hanson when he was through.

If he can move faster than walking pace and kick a football he would be way ahead of anything we have just now...

 

If the candidate has a pulse he’s already has potential...
