I think they provide a fantastic service and if they cover their costs and a bit who really cares?

Well, that would be daft wouldn't it? Speaking as a member of Shipley bantams I am very happy that any surplus our group makes goes to support the club with things like sponsorship, equipment and also to local charities. At our last event we were able to make donations of £1000 each to Manorlands Hospice and the Bosom Friends charity based at the BRI. Happy with that.
It requires a great deal of effort from those who organise it.

Anyone been able to buy one of these yet? When I click on the link, it offers me the option to get my ST delivered by Recorded Delivery at a cost of £2.50, but no option to buy an Away Priority.

Is it just playing up for me?

In other words "I travel with a supporters group and I should get special priority over the people that travel in cars"

    What a load of bollocks!

The club's charge do they not?

Why, if I get to every away game under my own steam should I have to pay for a service I wouldn't ever use just to increase my chances of getting a ticket to the same level of those that travel by coach?

    It's absolute nonsense!

Everyone that buys these tickets should be numbered in order and get first priority on the first batch of tickets.

Does anyone know the actual cut off number regarding priority.
It would appear everyman and his dog are buying one.

Limited to 2k. UNdertsand they only sold 700 last year so doub't they'll be an issue if you wanted to purchase one.
Doesn't guarantee you a ticket, just give's you a better opportunity

If there’s only 1000 tickets for a match and 2000 priority have been sold I would guess that only 500 would be available to buy once the supporters clubs and club officials have had their share.
This happened for sure with the Fleetwood play off game coz I saw @cibasteve@cibasteve rocking up at 9am to collect his golden envelope filled with a coach load of tickets

Yep, I remember the special conditions that allowed the supporters clubs to get a handful of tickets. Absolute disgrace in my humble opinion, especially as the club don't make you aware of this when parting you of your hard earned for one of the tickets.

I accept that many if not all of the Shipley Bantams members are elderly / disabled and cannot realistically queue through the night in the cold but that’s just tough shit.
The club clearly don’t learn lessons if they are willing to over subscribe the priority away tickets.
They should be capped at whatever the smallest away allocation is.

I like the idea that the tickets were actually supplied in a golden envelope. The ensuing faux outrage from some quarters on the back of that was a highlight of the old forum.

What is a con is the fact that these are ordered online and you don’t actually get a card. So why do you get charged a postage fee and a web fee? The £25 card doesn’t actually cost £25 due to the add-on fees they apply

And what's the lowest allocation going to be? Clubs can change their allocation on a game by game basis if they want just like Fleetwood did so an away allocation at Grimsby in the league would normally be 2,200 but if they wanted to they could reduce it 900 as it's 10% of the capacity with no notice. Also how do we know who we'll play in the FA Cup, we could get a non-league who only have a few hundred as an away end so do we limit it to a few hundred?

You have a fair point based on that we could indeed get Guiseley or Bradford PA in the cup but a fair cap would be 1000 not 2000.
Even then in the event we only have 500 tickets, it’s likely that many of the 1000 holders would not want a ticket.

I would limit it to the lowest normal away allocation. A quick check suggests there a few Clubs whose away allocations are around the thousand mark, with Newport County's 980 possibly being the lowest.

So, yes I'd go with a cap of 1,000*.

*Given the distance I am assuming that at least 20 Priority members wouldn't want a ticket.
