Good old W.A. I used to catch them at Chester Street. They were awful on 'open country roads'. Aged 12/13 I sat at the back with the 'lads', and my stomach met my mouth  ............ I suffered one of the worst cases of travel sickness, I've ever known ! :(

The good old days when Bradford to Oxford used to take in four or five "Coaching Inn's", for a few beers and change of horses,[IMG]you must have been on a few of them yourself mate, you only 3 years younger than me, only problem being those highway men on the journey down.

    Remember travelling with WA too.

I also recall an away game at Brentford in the mid/late 70s and whilst waiting for the coaches to turn up, it was announced that the coach company booked had gone bust and we were unable to travel down. Does anyone remember that, and also which coach company?

Lacey's coaches of Barking for me mate, 6:30am off to Newcastle, standing on open terraces, drizzle, wind off the North Sea, and lose 1-0 in last few minutes, back on coach, dried out and back at midnight.

Remember the train to Southport, hundreds travelled and then the game off for fog, Police made us get of the train at Halifax on the way back so we could walk home to Bradford for exercise

    Hell I remember that trip.
We got to the ground and a hand came around the door with a notice saying 'match postponed'
The walk back to the station was fun, overturned milk float and I think some fans visited a hospital to get the patients out of bed.
Police got us away from the station on a train to Manchester and we were walked up and down the station by the cops till our train to Bradford came.
We were lucky at Halifax as me, my brother and a friend had got talking to an elderly couple and when the police arrived in our carriage the couple told the police we were with them and so we arrived back in Bradford earlier than most.
I remember the trip being reported in the News of the World.

Remember city fans pouring soap powder into a water fountain and soap suds all over the road.

I bet there were some ‘eventful’ trips back then.

Yeah, they were Wallace Arnold in the 90s as well, used to go on the coaches run by the club. They were slightly more modern than that thing, though. Flag in the back window going to places like Bournemouth. Enjoyable days. My first ever trip on the coaches was Hartlepool away, and we won!
