I'll just put this out there as it might be useful to some.

LNER have having a sale on train tickets. You can get a return to London on the day of the Crawley game for £20, meaning you only have to sort yourself from London to Crawley as £20 will get you to and from London.

Tickets to Manchester are selling at under £8 return for the Salford game, then it is a bus ride to the ground.

It maybe useful to some, so I thought I would share it.

Our Seat Sale is here | LNER

And if you are going to Crawley by train, I'd recommend travelling to Gatwick Airport and using the Fastway bus services from outside/under the railway station which run every few minutes, both to Crawley town centre and the ground.

Fastway 10, approximately every 7 minutes between Gatwick Airport & Crawley Town FC, via Crawley town centre.
Fastway 20, approximately every 20 minutes between Gatwick Airport & Crawley Town FC, via Crawley town centre outskirts.

A Crawley & Gatwick Plus Bus add on to your rail ticket is £3.70 for a day's travel.

First class is £25, each way. When they did this deal before, we got first class there and cattle class on the way back. We were given free food and drink all the way down (free as included in the first class ticket but we filled our boots), which was nice.

Easier to hop on a Metrolink tram to Salford which is frequent and based directly inside Manchester Victoria train station.

Is the Football Museum worth a visit? I was thinking of going there the morning of the Salford game to combine the two? Has anyone been before?

That is of course if it is open as it doesn't appear to be selling tickets beyond the next two weeks.

Yes it's certainly worth a visit if you haven't been before, though presently you do need to pre-book a slot in advance on the website. It's practically outside Manchester Vic. train station so in terms of accessibility for combining the Salford trip then it works out pretty well.

You can buy Plus Bus tickets after your rail tickets so, yes you could still get them. Easiest way is to take your rail tickets into a station ticket office and they should be able to issue them there and then.

Actually the description in Football Grounds Guide is very accurate. ‘The nearest Metrolink Tram Stop is Crumpsall Tram Station, which is on the line to Bury. However, it is around 1.5 miles away from the Peninsula Stadium and is a good 30-35 minute walk’. https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/england/league-two/salford-city-moor-lane.html
The X41/43 and other buses which go up Bury New Road are your best bet.

To London from where? I've tried from Bradford and Leeds and tickets are nowhere near £20; will add that I'm useless with most online things hence why I end up driving everywhere.

    Leeds to London train.
All the £10 tickets are going fast. The £25 first class ones still exist.

Seems many are getting wind of this, as at 10am you could get tickets easy.

I just selected "London Terminals" on the options, but I think the Leeds line runs to Kings Cross.

Just checking that weekend to see why a surge of tickets maybe taken, Man City, Newcastle & Liverpool are all in the London Area that weekend, Newcastle fans will be on the train further up the line from Leeds so it makes sense for them, Man City & Liverpool would be on the Western Line to Euston I would expect.

TBH, at £10 single tickets to the Capital it's a great deal that many would jump on regardless of being a football fan. It went live nearly 24 hours ago now so the weekends would always be snapped up. They were selling Newcastle to London for £15. You can go to Edinburgh from Leeds for less than £20. I'd keep an eye out as they will probably drop another batch of tickets once this batch has been taken.

Cheap tickets have gone now for Crawley.
I looked for me and the lad.
    £56 return to London KC.
£45 return from Victoria to Crawley!!!
Add into that travelling on the tube and taxis too and from our local train station.

Think I will stick to the leisurely drive down.
    Will be much cheaper.
