I think it's the relevance factor. As I mentioned before and as you allude to it's an age thing. Park Ave don't really exist in terms of a professional football club and as I mentioned no one has ever so much as batted an eye lid when I say I support Bradford. We are now very much a one team city and have been for a very long time.

Even the few I know who support Park Avenue always refer to themselves as Park Ave.

 

Cambridge City were averaging attendances of 191 this calendar year until their new stadium opened.... they probably all knew each others names! No need for a nickname

 

My wifes Grandad and his pals are City season ticket holders but if City are away and BPA are home, they go down to Park Ave and he's mid 80s but calls them 'Park Ave'. I wonder if its just what the fanbase are used to now and that's where he's picked it up from as its just the norm?

Strange all the lads I knew at school , there were one or two even in Manningham based schools , just called them “ Avenue” ….It was always , without doubt , City V Avenue . That’s what localism does I suppose ?

 

He should be going as strong as possible. No ifs or buts.

 

There were ground sharing for the last decade or so with other clubs, so its better they are now back home..... sort of. The new ground is in Sawston.

To be fair since the new ground opened they have been doing better, well, better for the level. First game at the new ground had 1,450 fans in the place. Averaged out now but last few home games the average attendance is about 700.

 

That's my worry. I really don't want Grimsby to be a one-off, it needs to be the blueprint going forward. I dont want to see too many changes but Doyle will play, as you say Johnson sounds like he is starting. Byrne and Oliver maybe too, reckon Odour as well?

Yeh noticed that too but its at Villa Park.

 

Yes I know Sawston, , about 30 min drive into town , traffic dependant …about 8 miles from memory , so it shows how busy the roads are…Saturdays and morning peak a tad nightmarish.

 

Aston Villa are only selling blocks B5 and B6 for tomorrows game which is directly opposite where we have managed to sell 500 tickets for tomorrow for.



They may aswell play it at the training ground. Still we have a good chance to progress and for all the players there tomorrow it will be nice for them to play in one of the iconic grounds in the UK.

If this game was going ahead at Valley Parade we'd struggle to break 1,000 anyhow.
