    Actually have they just used the name Aston, or Villa, or ‘that team from Birmingham’? No they have specifically stated Aston Villa. Good for one team, then good for both!?

    That's another one that annoys me with the tv commentators referring the Manchester teams to just City or Utd even when they are not playing each other.

    They don't refer Sheffield Utd for example as just Utd.

    I think 50 is being generous, but not many fans who live outside a BD postcode will have any clue BPA exists. If i get asked by my Leeds fan mates or people at work "hows Bradford getting on?" it's never once crossed my mind to correct them to 'Bradford City' or even question which team they are talking about. It's Bradford or City and Park Ave now for most Bradfordian football fans as you say under a certain age.

    I can't recall me ever talking to anyone on my travels, mentioning that I support Bradford City when chatting with fellow football fans, always say Bradford. No one has ever pulled me on it being wrong.

    It must definitely be an age thing then. I would never just say Bradford, if asked on holiday for example.

    I wonder whether fans of Oxford Utd or Cambridge Utd refer to their clubs full name?

    Fair point, no question. Other than Bradfordians who know the real names, the use of “ Bradford City” Will die out in the media eventually . A bit like Woolwich Arsenal?

    A number of my work colleagues were Cambridge fans and the always referred to them as Cambridge, not Cambridge United , nor United.
