We should cobble together a team of U-21’s, save our wounded warriors for proper games! Seriously, I can’t see too many wanting to head to Villa Park for a midweek cup game, I mean we got beat last time we played there……

 

That would be even worse than the 2,000 in Valley Parade and possibly even less City fans being able to attend if it was a 7;00pm early kick off.

 

The EFL can reverse it if the home club requests it, the delay in announcing where it will be played makes me think Villa are considering hosting this at Villa Park. Most of the times an U21 has been drawn at home the reversal has been announced within 24-48 hours of the draw/tie confirmed.

 

Wow, this is a dream come true. Nearly 12 years to the day we will get to relive the magic of the cup at Villa Park. Queue up early guys it’ll sell out fast.

Sound like about 500 tickets have been sold for this game. Not sure how many home fans will bother but it's going to be like lockdown again with a 97% empty stadium by the look of it on Tuesday.

Agree especially as we've struggled to get training facilities this last week, get a decent team out and progress to the next round.

 

Is this Villa u21 game on SKY + ? On the SKY app all the other EFL trophy games are announced as being on but ours is not. Is there some clause that prevents our game being shown as I thought all EFL trophy games were to be on SKY.

 

If that is the case , it shows that the big boys have even less interest in this competition than us
Even with a champions league ticket involved, they have only sold 500 is very poor with a fan base far greater than ours
