Ashes 2025/2026

Just watched the highlights. A day for the bowling attack. Phenomenal from Starc, and England respond superbly. Could still go either way but ifEngland knock that last wicket over for no more than 5-10 runs, which they should, they have the edge. At least it won't be a draw!!

 

If England knew how to play a decent shot once in a while, this game would be put to bed. Gifting wickets away..... again!

 

I think the Aussies are just too good. Always have been and always will be.

Alastair Cook faced more balls in his double hundred in Brisbane 2010 than England faced in both innings combined today.

What a ridiculously brainless cricket side we have.

 

Would help make it a contest at least if any batsmen with 3 lions on their shirt knew you could leave a ball or two from time to time.

 

Well, I must say root has steadied the ship here. Well done mate! If the poms can get to 300 here and get a couple early wickets tomorrow, there might be a chance. From an Aussie stand point, I can't believe they haven't gone with a recognised spinner in the bowling attack.

Smith was getting very agitated drawing attention to himself,i dont know how he can show his face in public,once a cheat always a cheat,oh and its worth mentioning Gary Nevilles a kangaroo

 

Yes, he was a cheat and I can’t stand him. But he’s also been one of the world’s best players for many years. Unlike most of our side, he knows how to build a test match innings. Quite apart from his batting, his catching in our second innings put us to shame.

 

Like most keen cricket fans, I could write a book about our dismal Ashes performance so far. But one thing really, really pisses me off.
We have one of the worlds best wicket keepers - Ben Foakes - clicking his heels at home whilst the Surrey second choice keeper drops dollys in the England team. Foakes also averages nearly 30 in tests so it’s not as though he’s a mug with the bat either.
Smith may well be worth his place in the side as a specialist batsmen, but it’s madness to play a substandard keeper. Catches win matches, as Carey and the Aussie fielders rammed down our throat in the second test.
