Same as the platform number where Harry and his mates catch their trains to Hogwarts. ;)

Seems a bit unfair to ask for cash donations and not be transparent about how you could be kicked off the site.

If you cant play by the rules.. of which there arnt many you can have no complaints

No one forces folk to either donate or post here

Posters get plenty of warnings before a ban

So it's just making it up as you go along. You clarified how it works then when the next person gets a ban it doesn't follow the clarified criteria.

I said the points issued is down to the moderators as are the bans

I also said it's not set in stone and is flexible or are you choosing to ignore the parts of that post because it's that time of the month

Leaving aside the casual sexism I just think it would be useful for these things to be transparent.

I had no idea for example that I was close to a ban. It would be pretty simple to come up with a proper code of conduct.

    Ok to keep it simple..

If you receive a warning assume your close to a ban

You said after a while the warning level goes down so how does that work?

Seriously, what's the problem with having a proper code of conduct. Wouldn't even be any work, lift it from another site.

Lets say I issue you with 2 points for being a tw@t, I set those points to last for 2 months. After 2 months those warning points are automatically removed. Pretty simple really. It's essentially like a 2 month suspended sentence, meaning any further rule breaks in those 2 months would most likely result in a temporary ban. No rule breaks within those 2 months would mean the slate is wiped clean.

You should incorporate the points next to the user names, like some sort of badge of (dis) honour.

Good idea. As long as people are aware that they have a warning, how many points they have and when the points are wiped.

No... because people would just be tw@ts for the craic knowing their not going to be banned yet

It's the not knowing that keeps the tw@t posts in check

The alternative is that people are completely in the dark then end up banned. That's what happened to me.

I think I had a couple of posts removed or edited due to swears, (won't someone think of the children :eek2:) which presumably set my 'warning level' higher. Then I was banned for a post that apparently took me over the threshold. This post by the way is:

    A. The truth
    B. Not edited or deleted by mods
    C. Still right here on the website.

Interesting that there's a few swears and sexism from a couple of mods on this thread but no doubt that's OK.

Since it's your site would it not be easier for you to allow the word you're trying to post be visible?

I got a warning yet again but where's my right of confronting the mod and discussing it? The problem with c&b was over moderation from snowflakes and you've carried that on here. You've set on a mod that caused a load of problems on the old site and the a bunch of retired old dullards. This place is going down the very same path
