Feel a bit down about this, really.

 

He's been incredible for us.

Such a shame he got such a bad injury.

 

Probably all of us do. Only natural when a legend leaves but it had to happen. Hope he can recover his form.

 

Jeez, I thought I'd prepared myself for this but I'm absolutely gutted. Good luck Sir Andrew Ellis Cook, hope you have a brilliant 2nd half of the season with Grimsby and they appreciate you as much as we have.

Although expected news, I admit to shedding a tear when it was confirmed. I hope at some point Andy can return to a home match and receive the appreciation he deserves for his service to City.

 

Was expecting this, but the news still comes as a shock, all the best for the future Andy, we had some great tmes together.

 

A true modern day legend, all the best for the remainder of your career Cooky. That injury robbed him of being only the second ever player to get 100 goals for this club, never under estimate his value to the club. Glad he got that promotion medal he deserved for carrying the club through some crap times.

Absolute quality player for us, thank you Andy for the many, many goals and the class representation of the club.

Sorry to see the man go, can totally understand it from his perspective, and while we haven't played him, I insist he needs replacing with real quality - while it's true we aren't relying so heavily on the centre forward at the moment, injuries happen and you need strength in depth and real quality.

 

You've still not fully got over Hanson leaving and now this...I really feel for you mate.

I think with the way we're going this season he was always going to struggle to get a new contract but the way it's just fizzled out over the last couple of months is disappointing.

I wish him nothing but the best.

Hopefully the powers that be use the freed-up wages wisely!

 

Sadly this was inevitable. Looks like the club needed to make some room and have been honest with him and moved him on.

I hope he finds his feet with Grimsby and smashes the league.

Been a great servant to the club.

 

I would be happier knowing grimsby are paying his full weekly wages
Otherwise City are paying him money to not play for us

It is not like the club are pushing the boat out to sign his replacement

 

I think it's the right move for all parties but what a player he has been for us. Best of that type since Bobby Campbell. Think it was written in the stars that his final goal for us was at St James Park.
