Quite a few desks took their time calling the result with it being so close in so many states. the polling was badly off again but i think thats probably a similar thing to the shy tory phenomenon we get here

I actually don’t think the polls were out by THAT much. Something like 48 out of 50 states were called correctly. It looks like they’ll be about 4 points out on the popular vote margin, which isn’t a ‘good’ result by any means, but also isn’t disastrous by any means.

The main problem is that the narratives were set early on in the election evening, before the absentee ballots were counted, and at that point it looked the polls were wildly off, and that narrative still hasn’t really been adjusted with what’s happened since.

I think shy Trump voters might be a bit of a lazy narrative. It fits, in the sense that the polls underestimated the Trump vote rather than the Biden vote. But that would create a uniform discrepancy across states, which doesn’t exist. The polls were out in Wisconsin by 7 points and Minnesota by 2, and they’re reasonably similar demographically. The ‘shy Trump voter’ explainer is tempting, but there’s almost never an easily digestible reason for polls being out, it’s almost always super-boring and uninteresting.

People in most of Bradford, Liverpool, Hackney and Tottenham would vote for a lamp post if they stuck a red rosette on it

Tax deducted at source. Certainly doesn't apply to arch tax evader Donald Trump.

He has done nothing illegal. You do know the difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion? Stop believing everything CNN tells you.

We shall see. New York legal authorities are gunning for him for unlawful tax EVASION and fraud going back many years. Once he loses presidential immunity he's going to be in deep doo doo.
He's a total fraud and charlatan. He was bankrolled for millions by his dad and has declared serial bankruptcies. His only talents are for bullying, schmoozing and self aggrandisement. His disgraceful policies are a serious threat to the wild environment and the future of the planet. The sooner he's out on his ear the better it'll be for everyone - even those deluded fools who vote for him, even if they don't know it.

Deutsche Dank are on his case now. He is their single biggest debtor owing them a few hundred million dollars he borrowed before he became the Prez for some property development. He repaid very little prior to becoming Prez and has paid zilch back during his time in the White House. He must have forgotten about it with everything else he had on his plate. DB held off pursuing the debt for some reason whilst he was the most powerful person in the world(!) and are now gearing up to recover the debt. Prepare to meet thy banker, Mr Trump.

Lets not kid ourselves Steve, they're all frauds and charlatans. Trump just happens to be better than it than the others. Sad how politics is basically a shitshow where you look for the least fraudulent candidate to choose.

There is an old saying, If you owe the bank a million pounds you have a problem, However if you owe them 100 million it is they who have the problem, They will work with him not against him if they want any money back

Helps if you look at the whole quote. Yes he stumbled on the numbers, but the point he’s making is perfectly coherent and salient if you don’t cut out the second half of the sentence. What is going to happen to those people who survived if you strip out pre-existing conditions from the Affordable Care Act?

Sharing this sort of bollocks is a big problem.

In fairness, if its me that owes the bank a million pounds they've definitely still got a problem.

Alternatively if the loans are secured on buildings etc they may just take possession. The value is probably low at the moment and will increase post pandemic so they will be on to a winner
