So technically he could have a blinder tonight, Pompey keeper gets injured next game and they recall him. We then have to stick Hornby back in whose just been dropped after being our best player the game before? Unlikely but possible.

Great debut. To those who questioned why we didnt need a keeper tonight was a prime example why we did. Tip over bar and that save end of first half have effectively turned one point into three.

not often ROD and SH made match winning saves.

Take a bow Alex. Great debut. Let's hope Pompey don't have to recall him if that's how good he is

With a keeper like that behind the back 4 it will give them confidence, without doubt our MOTM.

It was bizarre after Salford everyone said we needed a keeper, 1 clean sheet and only 4 in something like 35 games and suddenly it’s irrelevant. Obviously not…

I know how this story ends,

Bass is going to play really well for City then go back to Pompey at the end of the season :sob:

Irrespective of where we finish at season end there should be one monumental clear out. Some of those still under contract included. The entire contracted and out of contracted squad is stale starting between the sticks, right through to the front. I detest new squads and much prefer the drip drip replacements shown by good teams where the transition is slow , maybe two or three ins/ outs over a season.

We need to bite the bullet and start afresh.

Pompey just signed another keeper from Palace on a perm. Maybe Bass is getting released in the summer.

No chance of them releasing him. He is highly rated at Pompey.

Unlikely as he's highly rated at Pompey. The Palace man is back up for the Manchester City loanee this season and probably number two to Bass next season.

Hopefully this marks the end of RODs career at City, the last of Rahics awesome team he assembled in 2018.

I agree, he's still number two there despite going loaned out in a strange move that should be called a Cowley Loan.

Can't see him being available in the summer.

But he's a bloody good keeper. Two worldy saves v Walsall, but as impressive, he commands his area big time.

From what I've seen in the 2 home games he has played in, he looks no better than O'Donnell.

Flapping all game last night, and his weak punch contributed to their sloppy goal.

O'Donnell would have come in for some right stick if he had played like that last night.

I agree.. first game he was fine and looked good but it seems the more time he is spending with city the worse he is getting.. it looks like City aren’t really developing him as a player, they are just creating another ROD.

So why is this ?? I created a thread yesterday asking why we dont’t sign up and coming players from the prem on loan.. the answers in that thread.. ie City end up un-developing players so clubs dont want to risk their future Ronaldo turning into a NSF or the next Buffon becoming a butter fingered human sieve,

Do we even have a goalkeeping coach??
