You don't care about wages, it's not a factor.

But you did care about the fee for McCartan, even that's long spent and there's literally nothing we can do about it...

You either care about value or you don't, Fordy, but it makes more sense to care about a wage we're actively paying and could stop paying if we generated a move for a player than caring about a fee we are not actively paying and can't prevent.

Part of me does wonder whether the whole playing Akpan thing was all part of Bowyers man management. He knows he’s not performing to the level expected/he’s capable of. Play him while the transfer window was open & tell him to perform & see who comes in for him. If he impresses and gets interest he can leave if he wishes.

Now that seems to have failed he’s out of the team as the window is shut anyway. If he isn’t even in the squad he’s less likely to attract any interest leading up to the January window. The incentive is there now to fight for his place back and get himself noticed.

 

Palmer has been sh&te for us so far. A massive let down.

Look this Akpan thing is getting a little silly. I thought he played just as well as anyone else. No stand out players yesterday really. We won 2-0.

O'Connor is the most consistent player in the team this season but you can guarantee when his first bad performance comes along or he makes a mistake for a goal the usual cries of swapping him POC will bound around VP. He was excellent yesterday and is forging a good partnership with BRE.

 

That's made me worried now. What if we start playing him again in January

 

Wasn't in the squad because Cooke, Anderson were ahead of him.

However, hopefully Saturday it will be Devine out of the squad and Akpan in.

Akpan has been poor, wasn't in the squad. No big deal.. move on!

See this is where City fans are going wrong.

Out of sight out of mind.. we've players that not even wearing the shirt but that's fine.

However, players like Akpan, Wright etc get it in the neck. For me too many thinking about wages. Footballer earn decent money and fans can't run the clubs books.

Devine, Palmer have been poor as this season. Palmer looked a little better next to Cooke and like Akpan has the ability. It's up to Bowyer to coach- to do his job and get the best out of his players.

 

They'll only be small he has a fixation with all things small .

 

Or get rid which I'd personally go for. Had enough chances and not proved his worth, not good enough for a team potentially chasing promotion. You could get 2 quality players at this level on his wages.

Has he ever played as a proper Centre Midfielder? Assuming GB wants to play 4-4-2. Thought he played from wide or behind the striker? Bit of a luxury player imo and I wouldn't trust him to do both sides of the job.

 

Not great for a midfielder, weaknesses passing and tackling for goodness sake.

No succesful tackles this season, just one dribble and 2 fouls conceded.
