    Random thought for a Tuesday. I watched a TV programme recently and there were two straight male actors in it. However they were playing gay characters and had a kissing scene.

    Which led me to think… if you were a straight actor and had to do a full on kissing scene with another chap, would you do it?

    I recall an actor in Emmerdale many years ago who refused to do this and was replaced by another actor.

    Must have been becuase it is over 20 years ago since Chris worked for me as a pot wash after he left Emmerdale

    It was more his parents that thought he would be picked on at school if the part he played came out as gay on the show, If I remember correctly the story line never ran at the time. Not sure if he quit in the end or if his contract just wasn't renewed

    Surely any actor worth their salt would just do the scene? It's what actors do isn't it? Act?

    Eddie Redmayne recently did it in Day of the Jackal, a great series by the way.

    Fair play. I just thought as I was watching this particular scene last night whether I could do it if I was in that profession.

    Incidentally, it was Ashes to Ashes series 1 episode 5, a scene between actors Russell Tovey and Dan Fredenburgh.
