I'd forgotten what a sight that power station was ! Reading up on Forster Sq, the two main buildings were John Poulson's work, which confirmed my long held belief that the man who destroyed Bradford (Stanley Wardley) was very much in the pocket of Poulson and his co-corruptor T Dan Smith.
If I could turn back time, I would happily shoot Wardley for the way his so called "master plan" destroyed our once beautiful city. A man whose actions ultimately lead to the destruction of Swan Arcade, mechanics Institute, Kirkgate Market, The Glass Toilets (what a bar that would have made in current times) and the German Church at the end of Thornton Road.
Thank god he died at the age of 64 before he could do anymore damage.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Offcomedun, Bronco and Bigrod like this. -

Believe it or not 50 years ago. Picture taken from What is now the North West Corner. The toilets picture above could have graced the stands of that era!

It appears that the Corona virus may have arrived in Bradford earlier than we thought.

Wow @Bronco I've never seen that photo from the top of the Kop. I'm guessing early to mid-sixties? Notice what looks like piles of rubble as the base of the Midland Road stand
I love looking at the goods yard, power station etc. Most of it was just disappearing when I started watching City.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bronco and Bantamsteve like this. -
He got his revenge when me and a mate went down to see if we could sign on for the team he coached/managed Phoenix Park I believe, he had us walking around behind the goals then sprinting full out down the side lines needless to say three laps in I was bringing my tea up, after training I went to the local chippy where ironically his wife worked behind the counter, I told her I been down training with Malcolm, to which she asked did he have you being sick, one way or the other he got the new guys to throw up as a sort of initiation, we really should have beaten Burnley that day at Valley Parade even with Jimmy Mcllroy.Craven Koppite and King Cole like this.
