It's lovely to see those photographs and be reminded of those terrific games. I think we enjoyed the football much more in those days, quite not so intense and win at all costs mentality, and we were all a lot younger

By the time I came to Bratfud, PA were long gone but the remains of the ground were still standing. I lived in a student house in Cecil Avenue, just the other side of Horton Park from the cricket ground.
I went to a couple of Sunday League matches at the cricket ground. But my main memory is of the cricket ground pavilion. This had a large upstairs function room along its full length and used to host student discos several nights per week. I have very happy memories of those drunken nights at 'The Cricket Club' as we knew it. They stopped doing them in 1981 and all the action moved to Pickwicks, on Morley St, and Champagne on Ashgrove (or possibly Claremont). -

I have a memory from that season of David Harvey and remembering we went through our poorest form when he replaced EricBronco likes this. -
Tommy Cannon was the Rochdale chairman back in the 80's.
I used to sometimes go to the Shay when City were playing down sarf. Especially when Burnley or Rochdale were in town
I remember seeing Tommy outside the Shay before one of these games and later found out he was the Dale's main man.
