    Totally agree.

Their fans, even BBC Radio Leeds in the build up, were claiming that on paper their players were superior than ours.

Removing bias from this opinion, I genuinely can't see it. I've no idea what they're basing that on? Just because they spent money and their squad might have had more money blown on them than ours doesn't mean they're better players. Looking at their team on paper, i'd much rather our squad, regardless of value or "how good they are on paper".

Apparently their player budget for 25/26 season is £20m….!

Our players at league 2 level i guess for the 7 years there, where better than the majority of teams man for man and how did that turn out ?????

You can have all the best players going but if they cant play together it means fook all.

I thought they looked an half decent team but once City got stuck into them they went badly missing and this aint the first time.

Still would rather have a TEAM rather than individual players............let the deluded bastards have that so called crumb of comfort.

The poor bastards thought it was a matter of turning up and battering us only for them to cop for a massive smash in the face

Define superior! What often happens when fans get above themselves, they make rash statements. What is the point in having players who cost a lot money but then operate as high handed individuals? Football is a team game with cohesion and trust in each other. The fans albeit on the periphery are also part of the team.

Burton Albion might as well not turn up. They have already given themselves 3points.

    Football is a team game.

Individual skills are great but unless they knit together, are worth less.

A clear game plan, executed well, can floor individual excellence.

Psychological strength, is often overlooked and can compensate for raw skills.

Soaking up ‘excellence’ which erodes their confidence should not be discounted.

Underestimating the opposition, is often an arrogant stance, and backfires.

Sometimes luck can have a decisive impact and overturn so called superior ‘skill sets’.

If you bought a dog under the impression it was a pedigree Weimaraner, and it turns out not to be, then you can’t blame the opposition.

Quite frankly the ‘Mutts’ were well muzzled, couldn’t piss on a lamp post, and didn’t even deserve a mangy rotting bone!

They kept saying that quite a bit but literally spent best part of an hour slagging them all off!! Even the rest of the squad who weren't involved!!

The interesting part for me was how they all said how bad the 3 away games had been (Blackpool, Barnsley, Bradford) but their home 'form' would keep them up there or thereabouts but also really criticised the home performances against Peterborough and Donny and how they'd been outplayed for lengthy periods of the games. So, in effect, pretty poor performances in 5 out of 8 league games so far.

I did say to a Town friend at work before the season started that they had signed some fantastic players but wasn't convinced by a rookie manager stepping up from a 'coaching' role. Seems like a lot of the Town fans are starting to feel similar....liked the comment though regarding Grant just regurgitating an FA Coaching Manual!!

Alexander talks from experience of 500 games managing.

I didn't listen to it all but they did at least acknowledge Alexanders experience. They credited him for sending Cookie out to warm up to get the crowd going again after it had fallen a bit flat..

Yeah, I hear they're gonna dust off Andy Booth to hobble down the touchline Saturday if Burton are on top.

We have GA and they have a Goalkeeper coach. Simple.

Saturdays match aside....Gooch, Ledson are 2 you would probably take. I did actually like the look of Joe Taylor, looked pretty decent when on the ball. Looked busy anyway....

Yes I said similar about Grant when he was recruited. However odder, they were signing “ named” players BEFORE he was onboard without a Director of Football, and all players since have been signed , again without a DoF .

Who is and who was actually identifying these players before signing …… You know what , they remind me somewhat of Carlisle’s old recruitment policy, players signed by Data analysts who aren’t even football professionals ?

Grant “talks” a great game, that’s probably why and how he bamboozled the Yanks , but if you listen to his interviews , it’s utter gobbledygook, psycho babble dressed up as footballing “ experience” .

As you suggest Ian, give me GA’s nous 12 days a week, very well proven by Grants failure to react throughout the entire game in tactically changing it as a response to GA’s formation tweak on 15 mins.

I say again a lot of them are deluded self entitled fools , and their crash down to earth on Saturday was laid bare , and has been since, for the decent average supporter. The mentioned “ Laughing Stock of the EFL” in one podcast……Well if it’s further news to them ….They are right now in my eyes , but to cap it all, “ We can change the players in the Jan window if we need to” ……..Aargh!

Will he turn it round is the question ?

I can “ look” busy , whilst achieving nothing.

Who has looked the £3m player, Taylor or Swan?

Watching the game they do have quality within that squad for me it's definitely the rookie manager, we saw how uncomfortable our players were during Hughes second season being made to play tippy tappy out from the back, actually giving Colchester the lead in our first home game.

Bang on with regards Grant and his cliches I heard his post match interview against us and he was on about the players feeling the "energy from the away support" as your say Nagle would have been impressed, a bit like Nagles comment about proper Northern football.

I can’t believe they have hired a newbie manager and handed him a very large budget. I didn’t realise he had nil experience of being a manager.

Like i said how many years did we have the better squad at league 2 level only for it to be done by a TEAM with a far weaker squad ?????

The backward twats cant grasp it ,they could easily finish above us but if thats the mentality of falling a goal behind then they are in for a midtable finish :) weaint the first one to jump all over them whenthey concede and we aint gonna be the last.

I mean that 2nd half alone would be having me worried for a start ............had we not go tired or lost our shape with subs then i think we would have breezed to a 3-0 win

He probably will be there. Think he's their Community Foundation Lead, like Sticks is/was ours, or at least he was a couple of years ago when I was coaching.

Very true point about the signings, my Town friend said exactly the same thing when it was happening.
