I agree. That second half was IMO actually better than the first. It's the best we've played when leading this season and it was more likely of seeing us get a 4th than them get a consolation up until the goal.

I find it very odd that the Town fans reacted that way considering it was OUR cup final ;)

Like Jamie Walker both decent players but they somehow never get any luck with injuries

Ok sorry I thought we were referring to the team in general. Apologies .

Tbh, I am finding it difficult to be critical of any of this summers recruits at all. Top class upgrades all round for me.

I was going to post something similar, once the euphoria of Saturday had died down!

Not taking anything away from the overall performance, the Hudders goal was really poor defensively, Neufville (I think) lost his marker for the header back post and we were slow to react to the ball coming back across. Obviously the caveat is that we had a makeshift back line by then, but this was basics.

Add that to the Donny goals last week, all of which were poor (two of them properly abject) from our point of view and the fact we’ve only kept one L1 clean sheet, points at a bit of a problem to solve.

Probably have to accept that we’ll concede more often at this level generally as the players are better quality etc, but agree that (particularly away from home, where we’re not as prolific as at VP) it requires focus otherwise that away record isn’t getting hugely better anytime soon - particularly when our next opponents are yet to concede a goal in open play.

All that said, I do trust GA to sort it over time!

I know folk keep going on about our away record but 5 points from 12 aint that bad really and add in we have beat two championship clubs away from home.

Cut out the individual errors and we will do ok this season.

I still can’t work out who did that little flick in the build up to the first goal…

My one regret is that we couldn't secure the services of Jack Shepherd either on loan again or as a permanent but otherwise we've done brilliantly well ...

Yes Sarcevic with the flick on to Touray and the assist at the end from Swan.

The way that we play means that we have more players in the opposition half of the pitch which means when a defender makes an error it can be really costly. Thankfully, poor passes from Baldwin and Touray in the first half on Saturday didnt cost us but its a cost/benefit thing, we want the wing backs high and wide to make an impact but an error really exposes us.

I think we need to be a little more forgiving with errors from the defenders. They are league one defenders after all!

Wright's unfortunate error at Donny cost us a goal with Gibson. Baldwin and Touray's didnt as we managed to scramble back. I do think that this evolution of attacking is giving us more chances to score, which is great, but we need to be aware that this method creates risk and mistakes by defenders can be costly but they dont do them intentionally!

Haven’t seen anything mentioned about Pattison’s injury. He looked out cold when the ball struck him - was that indeed the case?

Correct to assume he now falls into the concussion protocol?

18 passes in the build up (if we're generous and accept Neuf's shocking touch as a pass!) - Apparently the most in the build up to a goal in League 1 this season

Indeed. As GA says he wants them to play without fear of making errors. That mistakes happen but being brave enough to try is better. Great philosophy especially as fans are so much less forgiving.
