We'd be crackers to agree a fee below £3 million for Pointon if that's what Joe Taylor is traded between League One clubs for.

    Absolutely crackers.

But we've had a history of dropping our drawers at the merest hint of a million pounds in the past. We can't even use the excuse Bobby is insisting on moving because I wouldn't believe it for a minute. He's a Bradford lad and will no doubt want the club to benefit even if we do kinda have to end up selling him.

I think with Sharpe onboard the days of being royally shafted are long gone, or at least I hope so.

We still seem can't keep the ball out of the net and that's something we have to improve on if we want to try and nick games, especially away from home.

We definitely need to find a more pragmatic approach in away games but I'd also worry that if we just tried to sit in we'd just end up losing them 1 or 2 nil rather than 2 or 3 one.

Especially until we can strengthen the squad again with another couple of windows.

We just have to match his ambitions in order to keep him. Currently that is become a competetive L1 side but eventually he will want to play Championship if he continues to shine at this level.

It will be a shame when/if he leaves but this club really needs a multi million pound player we can sell to reinvest in the team. At some point we are going to have to be looking at 7 figure players we can bring in to get to where we want to be.

We could then potentially start the Peterborough model, but better.

Pennington and Baldwin most consistent so far this season and they will be first choice at the moment barring injuries or loss of form

The tactics will have to change for sure, but it's the same for the other side too, both managers and their backroom staff will collect data and watch footage to analyse opposition tactics and players. It's part of the game.
Obviously, if the opposition is ultra defensive, the press is pointless. I can't foresee Alexander's plans but those sort of games require patience, probing and movement to draw out and commit the defence to exploit any open space.
It's the type of game that will suit Cookie, who would find it difficult in a pressing game but would come into his own against that type of opposition set-up.

Id chuck Tilt in there too. Those would be the 3 if Tilt wasnt injured. J Wright looked decent enough but since his return from concussion he has been poor.

Looks like Kelly is out of favour with GA so could see him going in Jan. Byrne is anybodies guess, im not a big fan but GA seems to like but he isnt sentimental and finds players out quick. Mcintyre unknown currently.

Maybe room for 1 more in Jan to see us over the line if we are in and around the top 6.

Opinions may vary but both these two have played well so far this season.

I actually think with our squad size and numbers we can deal with them

Must have watched the goals back and reactions footage from the away end about 300 times this weekend. He'll make us seven figures at least in the summer will Bobby!

My only worry with this team so far this season and it was blindingly obvious on Saturday too, is that when we try take our foot off the gas a little or slow the game down, it just feels like the oppositions goal is coming in a matter of moments. Everyone could sense for a good 5-10 mins before that the Huddersfield goal was coming, we just seem to really struggle to be able to keep the ball when on top. It's like we are so drilled to not have the ball or play on the break, that when we actually need to stay focused, we drop off a few too many yards and don't seem to be able to do anything other than ping it back to their defence and give them another chance to attack.

In all 4 games we have taken a lead so far this season, we have gone on to concede in all 4, with 3 of those goals coming 80+mins in. It gives us some pretty needless headaches when we were in comfy positions. It's only come to cost us once so far which was against Peterborough, but it's a trend we should look to squash.

We conceded on Saturday after Baldwin went off and our back three consisted of a right back, one centre half and a left wing back.
We would have been much more solid with 3 actual centre halves, but injuries meant that wasn't possible.
I was glad to see Kelly and Cook brought on to help defend corners late on.

I thought we played the 2nd half really well and far from seeing a Huddersfield goal coming they were barely in our half and didn’t look like they wanted to be here. They scored a goal out of nothing 10 minutes from the end and then we panicked a little but we’d already lost Baldwin who had a great game and we were playing 2 full backs in our back 3.

    I meant central defenders Kevin.

Touray and Neufville have both been outstanding.
