No, I still wouldn't have him in my first XI, although Joe Wright may be under pressure but as a back up I've no reason to criticise at the moment.

Byrne is not changing anybodiesmind though. There's no way anyone (except parkbantam) thinks Byrne is anywhere near the standard required at this level.

I was thinking about that just now.
What's to say we won't win 17 home games this season, just like last??
We only won 5 matches away last season and got 78 points.
That'd be amazing this season and probably see us near top 6.

 

I cannot see us dropping many points at home and the home crowd will have a bearing on that ............we sort our away form out i may be a different story.
I aint getting carried away though i said that a boring steady season will do and anything else is a massive bonus.

The only slight concern I have is that ironically our tougher tests may come from struggling sides. Wimbledon are the only side so far that are unfancied in L1. Even they came and had a go. The tests might come against the Burton's and Port Vale's who will try to come and frustrate us. Teams who have tried to play progressive and expansive football have come unstuck. We haven't really seen a team come to VP yet and play negative, spoiling football. That might not suit us as well. Blackpool will probably be the first side to come and stick 11 men behind the ball. If we can deal with that then we're laughing.

To be fair, we need to learn how to demand high asking prices for our players!

 

I think we have to get better at finding them first with an enhanced scouting system for all levels

 

I don't see why we can't be asking for huge fees for lads like Pointon, though.

We obviously had that many elite younger players, but when we've had them they've slipped through our fingers for peanuts.

Joe Taylor looked like a £250,000 player to me. Obviously got some value as was rapid and worked hard, but where's the £3 million coming from? It's just a tried and tested thing, I guess, where other sides feel it's reliable enough to believe Peterborough must have "unearthed another one".

 

I’m sure someone has mentioned it but their keeper Lee Nicholls was in goal for Northampton when we beat them at Wembley in 2013. He let 3 goals in the first half that day too.

 

I was worried too when I saw we only had two bona fide centre backs playing. Touray had a fantastic game though…. in fact everyone did. What an afternoon of football!

 

Every single player at the moment deserves credit but there’s two that more than any get stick, some of it fair but both were sublime yesterday, Tyreik Wright and Baldwin. Baldwin In particular will be looking to keep a regular place again now, incredible last ditch tackle on Taylor and showcased that great passing range we know he has

He was brilliant in the time he was on, pressing and getting us up the pitch quickly. Energy is infectious and willingness to win the ball back.

 

I wouldn’t say brilliant , but very decent, he bullied and harried in the middle. Of the two I thought Tommy had the better time overall . Not knocking Patto btw.

 

I dont see Bobby leaving in Jan but I cant see us giving him away if he keeps this up. Its going to be a very decent fee if his head is turned by a bigger Championship club next summer.

Nuefville and Swan will be 7 figure players too IMO.
