I'm still trying to calm down after that. Game management again terrible. Khela might well have been ill but he was playing well. That sub completely changed the game. And I'm still completely at a loss to why he plays Baldwin in the middle. He barely wins a header and all his creativity is stunted there. If he has to play Byrne why not him in the middle and Baldwin on the right. It's all on the Donny game now and it would be just like City to win it. Don't know how much more of this I can take!

    Byrne played well today.
It was our left side of the defence that were caught out today.

Alexander needs to learn from his mistakes better than he expects his players to. Injuries, suspensions, or illness, he needs to make his substitutions and changes in tactics from a position of strength and be positive. Working on damage limitation later in the game and then citing injuries and absences as an excuse while 'not making excuses' is the kind of weakness he declared was unacceptable.
Oh, man, am I peeed off. This has ruined my week off and it's only Monday. I'm supposed to cook dinner for friends on Saturday evening. Cannot see us beating Donny. At this rate, after welcoming our guests with cocktails, I'm gonna end up drinking too much and ruining the food, then screaming at the oven, and throwing myself off the balcony.

Listen Smallwood has caused us issues but these are proffesional footballers and should man up and do there jobs right ..............is it so hard to simply game manage it right and go into half time with a 2-0 lead have they not learnt the lesson of Swindon and that includes the management in that.
How many time have we come across teams who go down the shithouse route and see the game out with great affect ?????
We seem hell bent on turning into a NBA game

Never sung GA's name and i never will, promotion or not
The man completely baffles me with his in game management, which is basically nil
His decision have cost us 5 points in my eyes 2 today and all three at Swindon. The Notts game was a fair result, but he has gone far too defensive and played players in the wrong position in the last two away games.
We could be sat top of the table on 80 points and virtually promoted. His strange decision have probably cost us promotion
I can only see a defeat to Doncaster and them clinching promotion and as bad as Walsall have been i can see them beating Accrington and Crewe
If we do somehow scrape our way up, i can not see Alexander being good enough to keep us up, or take us any further.

If you thought Byrne played well please stop watching football byrne was garbage again, yes he wins a few headers but I’ve never seen a professional footballer look as uncomfortable on the ball as him. He’s a middle Cb, get him as far away as possible from rcb, He kills any threat Halliday can offer. It’s dreadful, statistically we are a worse team with him in. Get him out, or it’ll be 2 wins in 10 and a play off campaign.

As a defender, did he have any fault in the goals we conceded??

You watch, we'll be left needing to beat Fleetwood 4-0 on the last day to achieve auto's...

On 88 minutes we are winning 4-0 and then...............GA steps in, defence collapses and we know the rest...

We will definitely need a favour when we play Fleetwood as even a draw at Donny would allow Walsall to go above us by beating Accrington at home. It’s done I’m afraid and Chesterfield in the playoffs await.

So I've just got back from 90 minutes intense exercise immediately post match in an attempt to thrash the halucinogens from my system. At full time I could swear my brain thought we finished the match with Crichlow in midfield having replaced a young fit midfielder after 60 minutes to put a flagging Sarcevic in front of our defence after he had caused havoc in a forward position all afternoon. Yet after 90 minutes my brain is still convinced it witnessed that debacle, however fantastical the notion might seem. Should I call a doctor?

We should be up by now. Alexander has done a fantastic job in so many respects but the last two away capitulations lay squarely and firmly at the door of his substitutions - oh and a certain smallwood.

It’s not easy to sum that up today , but 7 goals in your last 2 away games should equate to more than 1 point.

Regardless of Khela being ill or not poor substitutions that have been made recently by Alexander are not only worrying but proving costly .

Central defenders are not holding midfielders can we not change formation during games rather than lump players in different positions , Greg Leigh is not a centre forward , I’m not saying Mellon is pulling up trees but he is the guy to bring on at the moment once Kav is out of gas.

Our style of football is costing us as we can’t keep possession for long periods in games it’s all huff and puff run as hard as you can football . If we had any kind of promotion like away form we would have been up weeks ago.

Having said that somehow it is still in our own hands , Doncaster is IMO a must win game as I see Walsall beating Accrington next week especially if we slip up at dinner time imagine the boost that will give them .

For full disclosure as a regular user and reader of this site but not necessarily post a lot I have never been a fan of Alexander’s style of play / tactics but I do hope he gets it right for the last 2 games and gets us up in what has been a very average league 2 .
