I'm sorry but the illness thing makes zero sense. You don't suddenly get "ill" at 3:45. Even if so, take him off at HT. Illness isn't something can really shake off inside another 15 minutes. And Khela was visibly shocked at being subbed, he had no idea he was going off.

Feels to me like GA is buckling under the pressure and unwilling to face the fact that his negative moves have cost us so many points in April alone.

 

I think GA thought it was done and he could "rest" players for the Donny game. You should not do this when winning and getting 3 points is crucial. I don't think GA is the man to take us forward.

 

According to Alexander he was ill but a ill Khela is better than what he changed the team. Also did I hear this right in the interview with radio Leeds he said if Baldwin or Sarcevic had stayed on a couple of more minutes then they would probably be unavailable next week, my anger at the time might have misheard things

 

Two but hey?

 

For me, Nah the Swindon defeat was much worse, got totally played by that team and having so many defenders on the pitch unable to do their jobs just killed my enthusiasm for this team who have bottled it at the wrong time.
The tame effort against notts co and now falling apart against todays team was expected, i dont feel good even when City score because GA needs to sub on more defenders to screw up

Remember when GA said Leigh can play up front if needed?

He’s done a lot right this season but that quote will haunt him for a while if we bollox this season up.

 

He even sniggered at the implication that it was a tactical substitution.
They’d just wrestled the momentum with the goal on HT.
Why on earth is he sending an ill player out for the second half when we were inevitably going to be under the cosh?

 

I said after Swindon it’s best to wait until the day after to post after a result like that but feck it, 7 points we’ve thrown away in 9 days it would be over by now. I’m not having this it’s the players mentality either, we’ve been comfortably in the last two at least when leading before his subs, he can take all the fecking blame and leave if he blows promotion.

All that said as @Bumblebee_Tuna says weirdly we are actually one step closer to promotion, but only due to how crap the others are instead of taking the initiative and finishing the job this week.

I really, really hope you’re right. I just cannot understand how changing Khela for Walker and Sarce into the middle was the right choice. Surely Lapslie direct change or Huntington with Baldwin into the middle, was a better choice??

 

Also bull shit Khela was ill, we started off the second half fantastic and he was at the heart of it and looked fuming when he was subbed, GA seems like an honest man but even they can tell a lie when feeling the pressure and I feel like that’s one, or at best he felt better and nobody bothered to ask.

 

I guess we’ll never know if Khela was truely unable to finish the game. However if he wasn’t, the decision to change him has to be as ludicrous as that of Hughes infamous switch of Scott Banks!

 

GA has complete shit himself since mid February. There’s at least 10 mad decisions he’s made since then. The catalyst of them all bringing Byrne back into a defence when we were flying.

he must have seen Swindon...... massive hole in the middle bringing on more defenders who have not played regular together.. it creates mayhem and panic.... it seems to be every game. I would save no one ...not even Sarc.. we need results today not two more games...confidence wins builds more confidence /.... I hope Smallwood feels a tad guilty too....he has knocked us bad ....onwards

 

We should have put Walker into midfield, Lapslie as the 10. Not Crichlow ffs

 

The worrying thing is should we lose or draw with Donny it will give Walsall yet again a huge lift they have gailed on a fair few occasions to take advsntage but sooner or later its gonna catch us out .............got a feeling it could be next Saturday and if we do indeed fail to get out of this bog standard league then GA really has to look at himself because his decisions over the last 3 games havereslly hurt us.
Why put a defender into midfoeld when you have a like for like replacement on the bench????

 

Even after the sub, Khela sat on the bench for the rest of the game and went on to shake all hands after the match. So how ill was he? He was interacting still with every squad player rather than being sent to the back and wrapped up.
