GA is a polar opposite of Challinor - GA doesn't slag his players off in public, and I think tries to help them which adds to that team ethic, which is how it should be unless they have no hope ie Jake Young. Challinor is old school which doesn't always work any more and you can't dish your dirty washing in public like that. Idiot.

This is a manager who has taken them from non league to a league one play off place, I don't think he's in any danger of losing his job. And they should have really beaten us on Tuesday, folk might not like his methods but his players let him dow not the other way round.

 

I watched the Stockpot v Bolton first game of the season which Stockport won but Bolton were the better side for most of it. Bolton’s finishing was woeful

 

Challinor admitted this in interview after the match.

His first class success with huge unlimited financial backing, we must never forget , isn’t in question RT, I said that from the outset. Remember he was spending in the NL more than the top clubs in L1 at the time and so it continues. If they don’t put the ball in the net more times than us in 95 mins then they have no divine right to beat anyone. ?

 

Agree, but they have weaknesses which we exploited , just as they exploited ours in the first 45 .

 

I agree mate but to a fair few on here money doesn't matter apparently. I admire what Stockport have done, good manager backed by wealthy and ambitious owners. Doesn't guarantee success but it makes one heck of a difference.

 

It certainly does you are right. For every Carlisle , Luton etc there are Birminghams , Wrexham’s , County’s , Ipswich’s etc etc etc that money has seen success .
It’s a funny old game

 

The money makes a massive difference at the lower level but I see Wrexham have just spent another £7.5 million on Callum Doyle after a £10 million deal for Nathan Broadhead. It's a never ending cycle, something Stockport s owners will realise if they get to the championship.
