I guess he would be but I think brain needs to rule the heart sometimes, he does always look knackered and did a lot of graft.

I do get we need to not rotate for rotating sake though, you always look for where someone could come in with fresh legs although despite our so called riches in the attacking midfield I'm not sure we have a suitable replacement.

You could possibly put swan in there and give sarcevic 30 mins at the end, pattison is more a power/Leigh/metcalfe replacement and I'm yet to be wholly convinced around what lapslie has to offer other than running about

He scored four goals in a week and did very little of note for the remaining 23 games.

The Blackburn goal was swan and wright wasn't it.

I just don't think he offers enough, he has had limited involvement but can you honestly says you notice him when he is on other than the odd silly tackle? He's just a little meh for me

I think he does contribute. He puts in a lot of hard yards.

 

That's a bit unfair, considering he didn't even play in most of those games! He featured in 13 league games for us last season and only played a total of 571 minutes. 4 goals and an assist from that is not a bad return at all. Not suggesting he should be starting, but he's a decent squad player to have.

I suspect it will be to manage his minutes after missing part of pre-season and not wanting to risk him doing 3 90 minutes in a week especially if Wright is out for the next 2 games with concussion.

 

Youd think one of Pattison, Leigh and Lapslie could be sacrificed on the bench to make away for another defender eh. Only Baldwin!

He can’t cover any one of the back three positions , Baldwin can . His only hope is RWB isn’t it? The lack of his adaptability is stark tbh?
