To reference the semi like that is poor. Maybe its a move to stoke up the board before the window shuts and get a replacement ….you can’t built trust with your players making statements like that….the lad will feel nothing but s**t

 

Reading the quote I think it was about Wootton for the ridiculous handball leading to the free kick as he missed chances in the play offs but listening to the interview it was actually about Owen Moxon and how he didn't track the runner down the side for the goal like he didn't in the play offs. Can't imagine he'll be starting for them for a while after that comment.
Challinor went in on the players after Saturday and doing this again today sounds a bit like the pressure is getting to him. I've said that for the last few years they've been able to hide behind Wrexham is cover up their spending, now that they've gone I think they know they are one of the favourites and they'll judged more harshly.

 

Greater Manchester is a big area with a lot of professional and semi pro teams in it, as long as he's not from the Stockport area and he has no links to the club there's no reason he can't referee stockport matches

 

I said on here at half time that one of the two positives was how furious Alexander looked. And boy did it do the trick, the obvious rocket up them and changes made the world of difference.
Proud of them all tonight, also Tilt is going to become a city cult legend. What a guy.

 

What a second half performance. Possibly the best 45 mins we've had under Alexander. To play as badly as we did in the first half and win is testament to how good this team could be.

Tilt and Walker were decent enough in the first half but the other 9 were passengers and we did well to go in 1-0 down. When I saw Patto and Swan head to the dressing room during the interval I expected Sarce to be one of those hooked, as he was absolutely brutal in that first half. Good job I'm in the stands and not the manager.

I don't want to be too negative after that result, but Kelly shouldn't be anywhere near our starting XI. His distribution is atrocious and he regularly gets caught out defensively.

Also, how many crosses came into our box tonight? I thought that our wing backs were poor at preventing them coming in but thankfully Stockport's finishing was fairly profligate.

Anyway, bullet dodged. They could and should have been out of sight by half time but we hung on in there. Not seen owt to fear in this division so far, so top half should be the aim. Peterborough have lost all 4 so far, so we'll definitely get turned over there, but after that it's a perfectly winnable game against Wimbledon.

 

It was 1-0, about 300 shots from Stockport and 0 from us so I left work to get water for my cross country wallahs ( 36c) thinking it’ll be a cricket score. Got back just after halftime and it’s 1-1, clicked on flash score and we’re 2-1 up. What the actual. Hang on with Sam saving at the death. I am so jealous of you lot who got to experience it in the flesh. Fantastic.

2 further things from me....he rates that 1st half as one of their best in the 4 years he has been there (as bad as we thought we were and actually were!!) and 'we'll never know without proper camera angles and VAR/goal line technology if it was a goal', - really, should have gone to Specsavers pal!!

 

It's funny how bringing in somebody with 'football' experience can influence things.......really funny that? Wonder why our CEO changed his mind and thought it was necessary?

 

I think its a culmination of Sharpe, Alexander and Rupp loosening the purse strings. Plus taking an active interest in the club.

We have a great team running the club (Id add Longo to that too), each with a role that they are prospering in. A real feel good factor.

 

And the bonus of Northampton losing again.

He is one scary dude and just what we've been lacking for a few years. Ok, not a cultured footballer, but a winner that can bully attackers into giving up. Do I care.... Na he's just like big Bobby back in the day, he could scare defenders with a look or a growl and win a battle and a game in the tunnel.
