    Challinor is thinking the same...

"The Beno chance is close, but the goalkeeper shouldn't have a chance with Beno's chance or with Odin. Beno has half the goal to aim at."

He's headed it at pretty much the only place Walker can save it. Walker does well but deary me how much on a plate does the lad want it?

Football is a funny old game. That first half is as bad as anything i can remember from us, Stockport absolutely took the piss and should've been out of sight by half time. I've never seen our press be so ineffective yet suicidal at the same time - Stockport played through it, round it and over it and we just didn't have a clue. Our attackers were hopeless, especially Sarcevic who looked like he couldn't move.

Credit to Alexander for the half time personnel and tactical changes that gave us more solidity in midfield. We got the equaliser early which rocked them and they never recovered. Great save from Walker at the end but also a shocking miss from the lad.

I'm glad I'm not Alexander having to review this game tomorrow. You wouldn't want to dampen the mood after such a great result but that first half was monumentally bad and needs addressing.

Moments, like this, in football grow as you get older and can say, wonderfully so, "fookin hell, i was wrong". Utterly impressive is Tilt.
And we have another titan to return to that back line in J.Wright.

Things started to change when he joined plus GA. Tonight was another level given the dominance in that first half.

Edit: it was Kelly. He had a poor game and shouldn’t be starting in L1

    County fan comment

Do have to give Bradford some credit to be fair.

First half we played around their press and made them look amateurish at times.

After the goal they had a rocket up them, ran themselves into the ground and didn’t let us play at all. The press suffocated us and they are ruthless from set plays. Had a plan for every one of them and I think that’s something we really need to improve on.

As poor as we were first half (and we were really poor), I still had a feeling we'd get something from the game because I didn't believe we could be that bad for 90 minutes. Spot on subs at half time (was convinced he'd take Kelly off as well though), which set us up for a brilliant second half performance and great result - thought we'd come away with a draw, still can't quite believe we've ended up bagging all 3 points!

If he had taken Kelly off at half time, and any of the three central defenders on the pitch were injured, had he subbed him with Baldwin, there would be no defensive cover. At one stage Pennington (who put in an assured display) took a whack, also Tilt had to go off briefly in the first half. So as below par (but good enough over the match) as Kelly was, then it would have left us vulnerable, had Alexander taken him off.

    A little conundrum ?

Why should a greater Manchester born and resident ref be able to ref a game involving a team from the same location ? Asking for my mate ?

If Charles Dickens had been at tonight's match he would probably have said that it was A Tale of Two Cities and that it was the was the worst of times, it was the best of times.

Rarely can there have been such contasting halves in a match. This was a win-win for Graham Alexander, who will have learnt so much from that first half and gained the three points from that second half.

Curtis Till was my player of the match right until those last few seconds when, for me, that Sam Walker save just pipped him for my nomination.

Saturday will bring a completely different challenge. There will be no easy matches in this division, but we should fear nobody after our start to this season.

    Onwards and upwards.

I would relish being the ref for a L888s game! I think there would be four red cards in the first 20 minutes or so.
