you cant blame him for being injured, however the injury came about from attempting to make a needless tackle 60 yards from goal, a bit similiar to the goal at MK Dons where he dived in 40 yards from goal leaving the defence all over the place.

its these little things we were warned about and saw evidence of from his Notts county days.

In his defence, part of the problem is that smallwood is exposed behind a too attacking front three, which offer him no cover so the centre halves charge out the line to help, as Byrne continued to do the same when Baldwin went off

Man, just watched the highlight, oh my god our wing back system did not work at all. Their wingers shredded us over and over again, we were literally chasing back desperately on pretty much all their attacks.

    Ugly stuff.

Just watched the MK Dons goal back, there was no dive in from Baldwin at all,it was Halliday who was completely outpaced after a good passing movement from MK and Kelly desperately tried to lunge in at the death

Apologies, he didnt dive in but he is pulled from his position, up to the halfway line , outside of the wing back and 25 yards ahead of his partner.

very similar position to where his injury occured yesterday

I think also you’ve got to praise MK for some great passing and a superb through ball.

I'm concerned about our massive deficiencies at wing back, and that we look pretty slow going forward.

Watching the highlights some of these sides are looking lethal with their passing and pace, I'm not really seeing where we're better than anybody else o_O

We look to the very epitome of 'average League Two' in both set up and style of play. I get teams need to be equipped for the division they're in, which many felt we weren't under Hughes, but I think we've gone too far the other way under GA.

I really don't see any advantages at all apart from having a couple of good quality veterans through the spine of the team - Cook and Smallwood are huge players for us, but they need to be augmented by... something. I'm not seeing what that something is right now.

I don't know about anyone else but that's me convinced.

Consider my mind changed and I'm happy to accept that Baldwin has had an "Excellent" start to the season.

Dev's a legend here, had two spells with us but unfortunately his legs had gone second time around, whether its a good or bad thing they will certainly be relaxed under him, one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet.
One or two names been mentioned for 'the job', Pete Wild (Ex Barrow) NO THANKS!!, Ryan Lowe (Ex Preston) YES PLEASE!! and a guy called Mark Hughes? (Not sure whether he's any good or not :p, don't suppose you'd like to enlighten me?)

You may as well explain it to a brick wall. If the picture you posted doesn't switch on a light bulb, nothing will.

Seems pretty likely that Wild is going to be appointed. Especially now his usual assistant has resigned from Barrow today.

An excellent comment regarding Smallwood. Time and again we are exposed in the middle due to the balance being wrong. The amount of times i've seen us turned in the oppositions third of the field then find ourselves defending our box 10 seconds later is a fundamental worry with this team. Even Bromley did it a number of times with a limited squad down to ten men. I was saying to Bronco this morning its been a bugbear of mine for the last few years, we very rarely dominate a midfield

Talk about biased against a bloke you’ve never seen play and you won’t let go despite evidence to the contrary. Whatever you do don’t read the T&A as Parker has described him as the best of the summer signings although I suspect you never do. Anyway we can go on forever , chances are with a pulled hamstring you won’t have to bear his National league performance in your words for quite a while,so I’ll leave you to your constant criticism.

I’m sure Mr Monkey is a joy to be with on match day, and when it comes to brick walls you lead the way by a very large distance..

Parker and Twitter. Two of the least accurate sources of information in the country!

This is what I can’t understand. A team second in the league against a side we outplayed in the cup and we still couldn't get up for it. We’re 4 games in and should be full of enthusiasm but for whatever reason under whichever manager, we turn in these types of performances on a regular basis. Teams that go on to get promoted don’t usually have these anomalies so soon in the season. GA has to rejig this formation because to me it looks like the players haven’t bought into at all.

All promoted teams have off days. I believe Stockport lost their first 3 games last season?

I can't disagree so far this season although we won 2 and drew the other we've been far from convincing and Saturday was very poor, at least Alexander saw the game as we did and was prepared to say he was far from happy with that performance, I agree, I too think he needs to give the starting 11 a shake up and personally Jamie Walker would be a starter and (tin hat on) possibly give a start to Oduor, there's a player in there but whether he can be consistent over the 90 minutes is the question.

Watched most of the game and it was cack.

But the overreaction is a bit silly... GA Ball is shite if we lose but no one cares if we win. I imagine it's the same as Parkinson at the time. He can get results

For me we looked better last season with two up top. We had Cook and Kav next to each other. We seem to have dropped Kav further back in a more CAM position.

I'd also have Smallwood and Walker alongside each other. Walker is great at hassling and never shys from a tackle. Added bonus is he can pass and take players on too.

I'd also have Tyler Smith up top with Cooky too. I think those two could forge a strike partnership together. I imagine we will see Tyler tomorrow in the cup. Hopefully to grab another couple of goals. I know many on here don't rate him. He does however get in great positions (albeit not the best finisher).

Stockport were adjusting from the national league last season but soon got into the groove as did Wrexham. I too hope this was an off day and not a repeat of what we've seen over the last 6 seasons. The performances need to improve overall though and that includes the manager.

I like Odour, he has talent and quick feet. Maybe give him a free’d up role he might enjoy that. Plus he is very dangerous and if he was consistent he wouldn’t be with us that is for sure.
