Exactly. If he goes out of his way to acknowledge us then fair enough. Dunno if when he played for Burnley or Bristol or QPR and they played Huddersfield, if he acknowledged the Town fans at all. But if he does, fair play and move on when the whistle blows and make sure he leaves with nothing. But it's not a big thing at all.

Weirdly just remembered Darren Moore coming back to VP at the end of his career, as soon as he was done shaking hands pre-match he ran over to the kop and clapped for 10/ seconds or so before going back to his huddle and that was that.

It depends how he reacts to the crowd before the game , If he acknowledges us it might get a few onside ... If not I wouldnt be surprised at some abuse

Bang on sir, he was picked then feigned injury during the game only to see a stupendous medical cure from God before Hudders next fixture.

The problem for me wasn’t the move, it was the deceit that took place. Now , he’s just another player trying to bring about our defeat .

He was a sullen looking bugger when he was here, probably still a sullen looking bugger now. How would you know if he was reacting positively to the crowd?

I'll give him a round of applause, but once the whistle's gone, gloves are off lol

He'll be getting some stick from me if he's down the Midland Road side at some point.

Funny how most fans would be over the moon if he signed, but suddenly couldn't give him the time of day on Saturday. He was the deadliest striker that I can remember and had proved his decision to leave was the right one for him. We'd all leave for a better deal if we could, regardless. He was young and was probably wrongly advised by his agent. He came and stood in the stands only to be abused and had to leave. Call it naive, but why would he want to come back. His goals made for a memorable season and he should be acknowledged for that. Simple respect but move on and back the current squad on Saturday.

Personally I don’t blame him for moving on. It was the reports of the way that it occurred that has stuck with me.
He did well out of City, perhaps City could/should have done better, if there was a ‘Free market’ and a more lucrative offer on the table.
If the rumours are true, that he manipulated a move to Huddersfield, by refusing to consider other alternatives, then that in my view that needs to be taken into account.
There are many players who have been forced out and would have wished to stay on at VP
Yes as a player he has left some great memories.
We move on, I hope he has a poor game on Saturday, however I wont boo him, but I also will not applaud him.
    Time to move on.

Who cares. All this anti-Wells stuff is embarrassing to be honest. He did a lot for us and without his contributions we couldn’t have got promoted. Grown adults crying about it 10 years later really need to grow up.

    Agree
He was probably on 3 or 4k a week here, and got the chance to earn 7 or 8k just 15 miles down the road, who would turn that down ?

Nahki will get a cheer from me. At the time he left we were struggling in the league and he saw his opportunity to further his career. Who can blame him.
Contract or not, Bobby Pointon would do the same if he had any sense.

You think BP is worth £1.3m which was NW price at the time…What is that in today’s money? Oh my!

If anyone usually goes through Bingley to the game, the bypass is closed this weekend between Bingley and Cottingley. Should imagine will be slow through Bingley today.

It was already slow first thing. Was supposed to have the dog at the vets this morning in Bingley but they called to say the nurse has been stuck in traffic for over half an hour and cancelled his appointment. Might be worth a back route today if anyone's coming through!

It's Bingley Pride too, dunno if there's any closures or congestion planned for pride but notice the council electric notice sign in Saltaire this morning had a warning for drivers to expect congestion.

I’ve got a tenner on Wells to score first at 7/1.

We should not have been in such a position in the first instance, poor decisions made over time , especially the previous 12months, had us over a barrel. Self flagellation springs to mind CG?

    Classy operator, Bruno.

i doubt Wells will do same here. I’d be surprised if he claps the fans.

i liked him, so prob won’t boo him. I just hope we mark him out the game and he’s subbed off so we can clap him off the pitch while leading!
