You are missing the point and frankly you haven’t got a scooby. You keep saying these things are “ cheap” right how much , and how much do they cost to operate ? . Show the source of your information with a cost breakdown for operation for the required days in a season . Once you have done that cost up all the road, pavement and other transport frost prevention and alleviation costs for the 24hours prior to each of these games.

I guess it’s a cost/benefit analysis. Proper undersoil heating, like the PL clubs have, would presumably cost millions. Buying a heated tent would likely be hundreds of thousands. Is that kind of outlay (which might otherwise be spent on player recruitment) worth it to prevent a couple of postponements per season? My guess is the club thinks not.

What I didn’t like was giving reassurances last night the game was on then a 10am inspection the temperatures were just as predicted. I know it’s down to me but we always come very early and make a day of it. Battled some heavy snow in Malton then get telephone call about pitch inspection so pulled into Billborough top before going back through it. I know for most people they had plenty of time

 

Even if we did get the same ahead Albion Sports had their match abandoned this afternoon due to ice on the pitch at Myra Shay which is less than 2 miles from VP so at very least the grass would have started to freeze and if that happened we saw 3 years ago the damage it does to the pitch.

 

It's the way the club stated they were very sure the game was on. I guess we all make mistakes from time to time.
