Apparantly during commentary for Radio Leeds Stockport v Huddersfield Matt Glennon has called City a shambles for postponing this afternoons match !!!

Maybe he should look at a league table to see who are the real shambles in West Yorkshire !!

It's exactly this why it would have been pointless doing a pitch inspection any later, I think it was the corner by the changing rooms that was the issue as it doesn't see sun in the winter and also it's the area where grass is at it's thinnest due to this and how often the area is used. Unless that area was only just frozen then there's no way it would have thawed in time then the later you leave it the more the costs add up and the worse it looks for the club as late postponements never go down well.

You think 17000 people have already set off by 1pm? Absolutely no chance.

I'd say that might be him covering his own back a bit after he was so certain the game would be fine. As I said yesterday he might be a weatherman but that doesn't make him a pitch expert.

Both early games 0-0 at half time, Luton have missed a penalty. Probably the perfect set of results if they stay that way

    Fair comment from PH.

Minus 3 otherwise conditions seem to have been great.

Amount of sun out there you should be able to cook cheese n onion crinkle cut crisps on that surface

Anyone watching Palace Macclesfield? One end of the pitch looks totally frozen but it is an artificial pitch so maybe that's not deemed dangerous

That comment from Paul Hudson is bang on. If the pitch was playable on Friday, then the covers should be easily able to cope with one night of -3.

I suspect that this is a combination of the pitch not being in as good a state as suggested on Friday, plus the covers no longer being of sufficient quality.

Astro turf type pitch. It's a glorified Goals type field.

Not sure if you’ve seen the news but many areas of the Uk have had some pretty heavy snowfall with freezing conditions. Are you suggesting their pavements are safer?
If the pitch was playable last night, the club could / should have protected the pitch from frost.
If our frost covers are not fit for purpose then ffs get some that are.

It looks like it's only a frost on the surface so won't be anything dangerous with that. When matches get postponed on a grass pitch it is because the soil is frozen creating a rock hard surface rather than the grass being frozen. The main danger for a 3G pitch is when the infill starts to freeze with ice as that creates a layer of ice which is slippy, BPA seem to have an issue with that as they have a few games postponed for unsafe surface.

Good old mother nature always escapes the blame.
Spare a thought for our hard working ground staff.
Mick Doyle works his socks off, but guess what he doesn't control the weather or the match officials decision.

I know that second goal was a brilliant bit of improvisation!

Luton just scored a second now winning 2 - 1.

    Great assist from Nahki.
