Blatantly obvious he doesn't really want to stay. Probably had his head turned in January.

Better to get rid and hopefully use any funds to bring in someone who wants to be here. We have a few strikers on the books already and he hasn't done anything for us for nearly 2 years.

Whether his attitude is bad, good whatever doesn't matter. Someone will take him. Plenty of managers will like the challenge of being able to get him on track.

In my opinion the club can't really win here. Fans (some) will want Young playing, but you can't really make him play and then him not be arsed. Waste of time.

Of course you don’t know unless you have a source at the club or you’re a friend of the family or whatever, but I have no doubt you would have been telling us that little nugget.

I'm past caring if he goes or if he stays, at least with the latter we get another month of speculation, rumour, lies and fabrication to look forward to during the post Xmas blues.

Looks like his agent is playing who blinks first they have probably have a club who wants him cheap and are hoping we will let him go for nothing the nearer the deadline we get rather than keep a player who’s very presence is causing disruption.

This whole thread around Jake , has become quite tedious.
Just move on lad, you have not set the world alight whilst playing for Bradford city.
We are well stocked with forward players. and of them only Andy Cook has ever shown any regular goal scoring form for us
But for a poor decision, he would already be on 3 in 4 matches.
I do not blame footballers for their contracts, they sign was is the best deal at the time for them, but when players fail to perform and the club might wish to move them on, it should not be this difficult to free them from the wage bill.
Oliver , Mcdonald in particular. It really is money for old rope, when you can just sit and provide nothing at the end of the week and take home your several thousand pounds, almost as good as being a politician.
Really is time for footballers contracts to be heavily weighted towards actual appearances, making the squad on a match day and most of all results.

Clubs are not exactly queuing up for his services though, he may have to stay, knuckle down with us and show his Swindon form to try and attract interest in Jamuary from league 1 sides

I wonder what the numbers are for him now. Last Jan wasnt it Carlisle bidding 250k but we supposedly wanted 500k?

wonder what the club value him at now.

4 corner flags, new goal nets and a couple of footballs should just about do.

If the club accepted a bid from Fleetwood,it could be as little as £50.000.

All depends on whether he's disruptive and causing problems. If he's no trouble and has a good relationship with GA then we're in a good position. I'd think about 300-400k unless we just need rid

I fear its closer to 100k myself. 300-400k would be decent for a player in final year of contract?

£150k tops, but i think probably nearer £100k.
He is in the last year of his contract, but we do have an option i believe.
If we would take that up or not is a different matter. I certainly would not on what he has shown for us so far.
I wish the lad no ill, but i do not think we will miss him. When he moves on.

According to Alexander he'd be happy for him to stay but the know it alls on here have already made up their mind that he's a disruptive influence reading this thread, that without a shred of evidence to back up that claim. Good luck to the lad wherever he ends up this season .

I'm going on the assumption we have that extra years option, we'd of course use that in any negotiations so technically not in his final year. No one's getting him for free next summer unless we let them

Aye, many decided last Jan he was disruptive, and won’t be convinced otherwise.

i think its because they refuse to accept they were wrong when he went to Barrow and looked crap - and thought thats as good as he was. I thought the same tbh.

we fans get it wrong though, as his form at Swindon showed.

Mcburnie another i was happy to wave off and look how he turned out!

Agreed mate there's no suggestion of that anywhere, seems a good lad. Don't think him and GA have an issue, GA is obviously just hesitant to play a lad who might be gone next week. If he is still here I'd expect him to get his head down and be in the team soon enough. That'd be my ideal scenario, bugger the fee we don't know what the club will even do with that money

I’d forgot he had another year option tbh. We need to stand firm in that case and not accept any old offer!

It does appear that his options are limited currently. If he spends another season kicking his heels, would anyone want him next summer.
If he stays, he really needs to knuckle down and show his worth, for his own career .
