Neither did Oliver. Is he like a new signing or is he an ongoing millstone ? If Pattison had still been at Harrogate last season and out as long as he was we would have been horrified at signing him.

Young has literally had four good months in his entire career. I'll be amazed if he's still here come 8th August because I don't believe his six month injury was 100% genuine.

 

Park I guarantee you now Pattison will be a massive flop this season. It will be the same as Oliver little niggles and out on loan in Jan. He’s not the answer nor is Walker nor Odour. Only quality we have that position is Bobby and Sarc and he’s patchy with injuries.

I share that opinion of Young but I am in a minority on here. However we can hope his Swindon form wasn’t a one off. Pattison will do well. As for Oliver he will probably be out if not the more direct play of Alexander May suit him better.

I think Stubbs is a good player, Kelly did well last year but I'm still unconvinced and Johnson had been a right back, all of his career.

Hopefully Byrne and is better than I think he might be, I'm certainly willing to give everyone a fair crack.

 

None of us can forecast injuries. Not sure why you think along those lines. As for Walker, he is certainly one of the cleverest players in this division but is bound to pick up knocks because of the way he plays. Recent seasons prevent me from being optimistic but I can still hope that GA knows what he is looking for.

 

Are you saying you don't believe he went under the knife?

 

Let’s be honest here.

- Byrne was a Stockport back up last season
- Baldwin has been discarded by Notts who have majorly improved their defence
- Johnson is a very good RB but we seem to have brought him in to play RCB
- Sarcevic is undoubtedly a good player but according to Stockport fans injuries were starting to catch up with him last season and it looks like we’ve spunked most of our budget on him

- Platt was our best CB last season and although it wasn’t an extremely high bar the defence looks weaker without him

- The better players have started moving now and we are very quiet on the transfer front

- We desperately need to bring quality in at LWB and at CB
- We should also be upgrading the striker department and DM cover although I understand that players may have to go out first for that to happen

- Pinning hopes on Young and Patto is risky given our record with injured players and Young only having one decent career spell

- I really hope that the club are busy behind the scenes regarding ins and outs and have things lined up but given our history I’m not confident and it looks like another failed transfer window so far.
