2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

We already have Walker/Pointon/Pattison effectively fighting for one shirt so there is no chance we go out and pay a decent fee for a kid with no EFL experience.

 

Yeah, I read that earlier, but with Baldwin releasing that our manager doesn't plan to bring in many more faces, it could be a good move to bring him in. It could make the fans come somewhat back on side with the ownership with Rupp making a statement signing and focusing on quality is what we all want.

The only negative is that, arguably, we already have a lot of players who can play a similar position at the club, but he could be ideal for the double-second striker formation which GA spoke about at the time of joining us.

Also, it's highly unrealistic!

Sarcevic, Pattison and Young hopefully add to the tally this coming season.

For the first time in years I genuinely think we have 5 or 6 players who could realistically hit 10-15 goals next season. Cook, Young, Kav, Pointon, Walker, hopefully Sarcevic too and maybe Smith, why not

 

Looks like Jacob Bedeau is off to Notts County, suspect him and Platt will for a solid partnership next season. It's a shame, as I still don't believe we've done any better in bringing in Baldwin and Byrne. We're also still to see this promised investment from Rupp. Signing players released from other clubs not deemed to be good enough for them is not investment.

 

As I said a few weeks ago, I believe it was put out there to look as though it was to increase the player budget but in reality I suspect most of any investment will be to things like improving the pitch.

 

I agree, but lets see where our business lies in a months time. Hopefully we will have splashed a few quid on a LWB and top CB. Maybe even another Striker.

The finishing starting eleven last season was looking very good. We have lost Oyegoke Wright and Platt from that. So far I think Sarcevic and Johnson are two very good signings for this level and Byrne looks a solid centre back. The juries out on Baldwin but wit Pattison and Young available the squad looks stronger alread with probably two or three more to come.

 

Naturally most fans believe any extra investment that Rupp puts into the club will be with regards the player budget maybe it something totally different, I'm still hoping Rupp's postponement with regards his proposed interview with Radio Leeds will bring some exciting news with regards our club or maybe an announcement at the start of up and coming fans forum ?.

 

Kemp refused to sign a new deal - had zero intentions of staying. He held some value to them and they will be upset to lose for free.

That’s zero evidence whatsoever. What if we sign an under 21 squad player from Tottenham released on a free, deemed “not good enough”, do you think he’d be paid with ….Washers? It’s investment in wages and signing on fees not necessarily a transfer fee . We need to be realistic not make unsupported comments. Sarcevic was recruited because he turned down County’s offer. He won’t be cheap!

 

You keep banging the same drum about the "finishing" starting 11. Just because we won the last few games doesn't mean we were great, in fact we totally rode our luck and if it wasn't the end of the season then the opposition would have punished us. We are currently still several top players off being a promotion winning team, and certainly are no more stronger at the moment than we were. As other fans keep saying, the jury is out
