It's that lovely Denzel Washington but he's far from nice in that movie a good watch.

Terrible film, It stretched about an hour's worth of story over 3 hours seemingly just for the sake of it.

If they'd have condensed it down and not diluted all the action then it could have been half decent.

We even disagree on movies well The Irishman anyway, I started watching it one night over Christmas starting around 10 pm not knowing it was 3h 30 min and thought it was intersting how Scorsese gave his take on Hoffa and his Teamsters.

I liked some of the others you posted but this one was just too drawn out for me. It's like they wanted an epic like the godfather but weren't good enough to fill in all the gaps they created by stretching it out.

Once Upon a Time In America was a movie that you couldn't leave because of the toing and froing from the present to the past but a great movie.

I stuck with it but I struggled for the last hour. Could've easily been completed in 2hr30. Thought there was a lot of nothingness in a lot of parts which were just there for the sake of it. 6/10 6.5 maybe.

I’ll certainly add it to my list judging by the recommendations on here.

I really enjoyed it but it did have that feeling of a film that was 30/45 minutes too long. Enjoyed 1917, like saving private Ryan but without the usual Spielberg schmaltz. Not sure its the classic that they've made it out to be in the media though.

Along with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci. and Edward Norton, Denzel Washington is in my top 5 actors, he usually plays the nice guy but he was a complete b@stard in American Gangster.
Maybe lovely was not the best way to describe him :).

Just watched Ad Astra, slow paced and they could have made more of the visuals of space but I enjoyed it. Some good acting in it, and an interesting story line, I prefer that over non stop action where good acting isn’t needed any day of the week, but I can see why it wouldn’t be for everyone.

Underrated actor Is Pitt imo, another good performance from him.

Still not got round to seeing this film though.

Watched 1917 and while a competent movie felt it was a 7 out of 10

The Gentleman was okay, seen better though, bit of a poor mans Snatch. Still I like that sort of film so it wasn’t to bad.
We should really have a film thread on here.

Agree I'm sure it would be as diverse as every other thread, just as a forum should be, posters with different opinions on things.

As for the Irishman, there's something on the interweb showing you how to watch it as a series. Tells you when to pause and come back to it. I sat down thinking it was a series, and 2h in, realised it wasn't, and lost the will to live. I still haven't returned to it since Christmas. Once upon a time in Hollywood has me thinking the same. I've got it on USB, but can't bring myself to settle down to watch it (although Margo does make the long slog more comfortable!).

Talking of drama, did anyone watch the Barrymore doc last night? How that guy hasn't been locked up is a total mystery.
