Lathargic and frustrating. When we stepped out of 3rd gear we didnt do much.

Balls into box were dreadful in the main. Lacked any height and cut out by defender. Youd think pro footballers would know how to get their foot under the ball to lift it.

Credit to the 3 CBs who were all solid. Joe Wright and Tommy Leigh with awful misses. Gotta do better.

Power rightfully hammering Halliday at the end who took 3 business days to decide what to do and then saw his poor shot blocked when he had better options.

Weve lost a step in recent weeks. Need some of the injured lads back...

 

I’m actually going to give some credit here and say Lincoln are a decent, well organised side who probably make a lot of teams look poor. Not a pretty game by any means, I did think we were going to score near the end though. Thought Cook did well when he came on.

 

File that under “instantly forgettable”

 

I know we didn't obviously but Joe Wright should have scored, Leigh should have scored and Cook's header goes in on another day. 3 chances converted/ not converted is not the difference between a great performance and a poor performance. I'm still feeling pretty positive but we do need a win badly.

 

Power would probably have been closed down and isn't exactly fleet footed. Power needs to calm down, good on Halliday for telling him to F off.

 

Kelly my motm, thought he was solid again today.

 

Power was pissed off and had a go because Halliday made a shite decision. Captain should be handing out rollockings. He should have throtlled him.

I wonder how receptive Power is to getting an ear full when one of his abysmal 25 yarders flies miles over the bar. I agree. Halliday did well imo and gave us plenty of impetus down the right. Maybe he made the wrong choice but Power needs to wind his neck in.

Power had a go at a few players, all for the same thing: Halliday late on, yes, but also Touray and Byrne in the first half.

The general theme seemed to be: we're trying to play at a high pace, what are you doing? Get on with it.

He was quite right, too, and it's the same message Graham Alexander has been giving.

It's noticeable how much fitter Power is than quite a few other players. Even at the end of a frantic game he doesn't look tired. True pro.

 

Thought the overall quality on show was poor.

Bit like on Saturday, but this time Lincoln City had a TON of chances and showed some really poor finishing. I don't think they hit the target in the first half did they? Every single shot ballooned over the bar.

We showed slightly more quality in the final third but not until it was too late really.

Draw a fair result.

That same line: just lacking a little bit of quality.

That's attacking quality, BTW, because it's fairly clear that ourselves, Stevenage and Lincoln are all pretty decent at shutting opponents down.

 

Both sides have injuries and it made for a dire encounter.

we always looked a yard off it. Didn’t get enough bodies in the box at times.

while credit goes to the makeshift defence for their solid defensive display, we took too long to shift the ball and by the time the full backs got it, they were closed down.

cooky gave away a lot of fouls without offering much tonight. sarcevic was pretty anonymous. Swan off it again. Kav anonymous.

i hope our treatment room clears soon as we are capable than far better than that tonight (as are Lincoln).

 

A bit perplexed by GA and his game management tactics tonight.

He knew what was coming so set us up like he did from the off and we got absolutely battered. Tweaked it and we came back into the game. Frustrated that we wait 30 mins to tweak things.

Lincoln look a decent side, well organised. It looked like we were playing the Harlem Globetrotters.

Another ref who bought any sort of dive from oppo players to give a free kick.

Almost 2 points a game gained so far.

Lots of noise about Power showing passion tonight. What a leader he is. Quite right he bollocks others to maintain high standards. He would be the first to say if he had a bad game as well. We have missed a leader like him.

 

You can’t play Kav in a game like that or a team like that.

In the 1st half we were getting overrun in midfield and had to switch in so Sav played as a false 9.

Power kicking off at players. Frustrating night but a draw a fair result, Don’t think either team did enough to win.
