    Thinking about last night
Before ko l would have taken a draw or hoped to steal a win

call me greedy but I was disappointed how we played, but maybe that because of how Lincoln allowed us to play,

That's what would happen with a good Captain/group leader they make their point then put it to bed, I would think Brad realises it's frustration as he looks a similar type of player who gives his all for the team.

Looking at our position in the table and who weve played we can't be disappointed with our season so far Stockport, Cardiff, Stevenage away Luton, Wimbledon, Lincoln, with two Yorkshire derbies at home especially with our injury problems (I know other teams have injurys) but as has been said missing the likes of Pointon, Pattinson playing in their forward roles gives us so much more attacking options,.
We should have enough to give Cheltenham a game on Saturday without rushing players back so another 11 or so extra days getting back to fitness may not be bad thing.

Just throw himself at it and it's in mate. Not bothered if it goes in off his foot, head, belly or arse. It goes in!!!

Watching last nights display, my memory is that Swan and Kavanagh both received a lot of balls at around head height. Playing against giants, they stood little chance. The other thing is that as the Lincoln defenders are also vey large, consequently it is difficult to get round their bodies. Playing the ball to feet or an area where Swan and Kavanagh, can get to the space and use their speed/tight footwork skills, is playing to their strengths. Last night they were dealt a poor set of passes.

The press was far too slow for most of the game too. The forwards weren't quick enough to the defenders who then had an easy outball into midfield where we weren't pressing quickly enough either. We've been really off it in the last couple of games, Barnsley apart. I hope we're not a team that can only play on dry grounds at the start and end of the season. I'm also getting worried about our options up top. Humphrys has shown little so far, as well as being frequently injured, Cook doesn't fit the system, Swan has lost the spark he had in the early part of the season and Kavanagh is just useless at this level. Lots to ponder but we're still in a great position. Urgently need some bodies back though.

I've just listened to the Lincoln City manager's post match thoughts on You Tube. Strange hearing the voice of Park Avenue fan- John Helm as interviewer. Evidently he works for Imps TV.

I think it’s more a case of Lincoln stifling us with their tactics successfully as they obviously do with most teams they play. Burton play a similar way with less success but expect a similar game against them

We've got a run of games now that look easier on paper. Remarkable that we are where we are having played all the sides in the top half apart from Bolton. Our run up to Christmas is all the bottom sides. If we can treat the next 10 days like a mini pre season and get players fit and rested then we are still in a great position.

I don't disagree, but we said similar after Rotherham and seemed to return after that extended break carrying even more injuries! I get it that injuries are part of the game but we seem to have had more than our fair share over the last couple of seasons and more frustratingly many seem to occur away from matches. Let's hope this is nothing more than bad luck and we return in 10 days time with a healthy looking squad.

I really hope it's bad luck n all. I can't remember a season where we've had this much grief with niggly 2-3 week injuries.

Other than last season maybe, but perhaps I'm exaggerating that in my mind due to the loss off Sarcevic, Pattison and Pointon all of which coincided with a slump in form after the great post new year run of results.
Think half the problem is we get told so and so is back on the grass working with the squad in anticipation of a return which then doesn't materialise and we hear nothing further. I think Pennington is a good example of this. Fully support concussion protocols but his absence now suggests something more than that, but unless I've missed something I've not seen an update.

Amazing a few draws and now there is friction in the dressing room and now our strikers are crap :)

Dont you love the flip flop world of the City fan.

Bet thr same folk coming out with this bollocks where praising how great our strikeforce is and how great out team spirit it less than a month ago :)

We have struggled against two teams that the majority of teams will struggle against oh did you believe that we would beat every teams at this level easily ??????

I am over the moon at the start but i was always worried that folk would start to get giddy and it sadly looks like its happening :(

God forbid we lose a few games this message board will come alive with doom merchants.

2nd in the league thats right 2nd not 24th we are 2nd

Would sooner Kav went off than Swan. He's faster and more mobile than Kav who was like a dog chasing a ball which he could find.

You need to go have a lie down gaz.

People are just openly discussing the game and not one person has said all of our strikers are crap or that we should beat every team easily, you're just making that stuff up.

I did wonder myself. To be honest I do think high rotation must be very hard to manage. The players will not know how they stand in terms of being starters for the next match. Competition is good for the players but can lead to high anxiety amongst the players.

Me too. He did the very hard shepherding skill very well indeed. He is not perfect, but I just thought he played really well last night, and Saturday.

I am his number one fan btw. He is a fantastic captain, he is very frustrated at our current form arn’t we all?

Halliday was poor in that passage of play, he was hesitant and made the wrong decision. However, he has hardly played so may well be suffering from rustiness. Do you think that Halliday was any less frustrated than Power? Did he deserve a bollocking on the pitch in front of the camera’s and fans?

Power hesitated in front of goal last night and ended up losing the ball, I forgave him because he has other attributes, but maybe I should be less forgiving.
