Apparently Power is in early for gym work before training every day. He and Touray have good engines and are an example to the rest.
The real surprise for me is Sarcevic who I thought would struggle with the pace and strength needed for the press but he's been great.

TBF they doubled up on him denying that space round the back. He needed more support inside but really didn’t get it.

Not sure what any striker could have done for the first 65/70 minutes last night as it was mainly hoofball from both sides. The change of Cook for Swan and playing Sarce behind Cook and Kav achieved little. Only changed when GA made the three changes at 70 minutes. Wright coming on had been needed all night just for balance, Nuefville was ineffective as they doubled up that side and the ever impressive Touray had no outlet in front of him. Last 20 minutes i thought we looked back to something like the team that had got us to the top three.

every one shouts for cook he is a good player so is swan.
cook struggled to get in the game as well.
as I said service to the front was non existent forwards are
only as good as the service they get from midfield.
so the post swan is stinking the joint out. Dimitri keep negative thoughts to yourself please.

Surely it was easier to head than try and get his boot to it.

Early season they were all providing service for each other. Not getting the service is a poor excuse. I like Swan but we can't fall into the mentality of getting the ball to one player to try and score. Our success has been built on a front 3 all equally involved in scoring and creating chances. I didn't see that from any of the front 3. Swan not scoring wasn't the problem last night. It was his general anonymity. He wasn't the only one mind.

Too much hoof ball and big hopeful headers.
Seems we have lost the quick passing game that’s got us where we are.

looked like a hard fought div2 match

I'm also baffled why Lapslie isn't given more opportunities. He offers much more than Kavanagh who looks way out of his depth in league 1.

Didn't really have a chance to work until Wright came on. Sarce plays better with Bobby as well. Lapslie should be ahead of Kav in the pecking order

Makes you wonder if there really is a crack in our team spirit...?

Swan and Kav struggled to get into the game. The service wasn't there but with our system, the front 3 cause their problems by pressing. Kavs pressing is really shite to watch, he just runs down a channel rather than at the man and leaves the simple pass out open every single time. But the main point last night was you cant press the defence to create errors, if the defence don't hang onto the ball. Swans press was there but he was chasing down CBs who don't play out from the back, so our general front 3 play needed to be different, and we didn't adapt.

We brought Cook on who did his job in occupying the CB and kept them shirt tight to create space around, but they we decided to rarely go up to Cook, especially in the box. I don't think a cross went anywhere near Cook until the 90th minute header. Just one of those off nights where little clicked, it always happens to every team but at least the CBs were pretty solid and we got a point out of it.

Agree once Wright and Halliday were brought on we actually became a threat.
I love Powers passion but I thought his reaction at the end was OTT, continuing it for a couple of minutes after the final whistle, by all means make your point but not in front of 1000s of fans.

Watching Powers gestures to Brad I believe he wanted the ball playing square to him, but our shooting recently has left a lot to be desired.

To be fair he was at the players all night and with good reason, first half as the centre backs were all over the place, 2 of them going for the same ball on numerous occasions. Can tell why Lincoln have only scored 1 in the last 4, a decent side would have punished that back three.

Power frustrates me from time to time. His shots are as bad as Smallwood and yet no one gives him grief for it. He’s a winner and he wants to win. If by dishing out bollockings brings up the general standard, then that can only be a positive. I’m sure they’ll have made up in the dressing room.

Isn’t that because GA encourages them to shoot when maybe a better option might be to pass. I’ve seen a few teams pull the ball back to the edge of the box for someone to run onto.

Yes maybe it was the fact that it happened on the final whistle didnt help, I just thought his continuation of the situation was uncalled for, definitely frustration and I love his passion, let's hope it got sorted in the dressing room.

Watching on TV the camera zoomed onto Power screaming at full time and he was pointing in the box and it looked like he said "just get it in". I think he was more annoyed that Halliday took 5 or 6 touches to shift it on his left and hit a poor strike, when we had 4 or 5 in and around the box waiting for the delivery. Playing the odds maybe?

He is always talking, always organising. I think he's said before he is very competitive and looking at his past he is a winner. Maybe he just wasn't happy at how the game went and it could have been anyone, whoever messed up at 90 would have had an ear full out of frustration. I'm sure it was all water under the bridge by the time they got changed.

It's no big deal, I'd expect it's all forgotten about as soon as they left VP. Might seem harsh to some but I want my skipper to have this desire, it's what leaders do. Make no mistake that's two points dropped last night of we are serious about going up as it seems out captain is, success makes demands on the best of people
