We need to stop lunging into tackles, there's some tasty stuff going on off the ball, we shouldn't be giving silly fouls away to a team that's score a lot of goals from set pieces.

Ref gives a free kick.

He only gave Touray a yellow card because four stevenage players came over to tell him. Could have done with Power getting in there quicker after he sent Kavanagh away.

 

If it's a Stevenage foul we are feigning injury the other way they are screaming for the death penalty, jeez

 

There is an awful lot of "falling over and apppealing for a free kick" going on. Its hardly a football match.

 

It’s obvious why he has gone for Kelly in this very physical match

 

Well tbh its the only time their crowd do anything. Its the metaphorical library aside from that awful drum.

 

We have all played foorball at some point and we all know the rules ............so why do we see this every fooking week telling pro footballers what they already know

 

Maybe, but their front line have decent pace.

Byrne grabbing their number 30 any time he can. We could easily get done with a poor header falling to their midfield to play a through ball.

If we can score again we can stay ahead though.

 

Although this style of football is much better than the tippy tappy stuff we became accustomed to we need to learn when to take the sting out of the game with a period of controlled possession. We could probably pass these to death

A couple of observations;

Neufville and Wright waste so many good crossing opportunities, just get the ball in the box

As good as a player metcalfe may be, I'm not sure he is suited to a two man midfield

 

It's in the laws that they've got to stop the game if a foul happens before the ball is in play. If the ball isn't in play then you can't give a free kick/penalty

 

Looking at this referees record he doesn't send a lot of players off but Stevenage are a typical Revell side with their physical challenges etc.

Fancying Cook and Lapslie to come on and Lapslie to get a goal.

 

He’s done nothing today so far?

 

It’s always been in the laws but it’s never been enforced as much as it is this season.

A lot of the time it’s just jostling between players and they still stop the game.

 

Heard a rumour about a training ground bust up which could have affected the side that has been picked today.
