It’s a ‘weak’ back 3 but a very nippy and agile front 3. These injuries are piling up though like last season as well. Do we need to strike a better balance in how we play / train to keep players fit? We love that playing style don’t we though…

Yes I did indeed forecast a front three of Lapslie Swan and Kav! 2/3 ain’t too bad?

 

They are being saved for Tuesday probably . I suggested Sarce would be saved for Tues.

Both big games so make use of a decent squad.

 

Kavanagh has not had the chance to prove himself properly, but my goodness he certainly earns a start after his performance last Saturday. Agree with you on Byrne and Kelly.

What about the rest of the team? There's some real talent there.

 

I still think Lapslie has been very unlucky not to play (although he has made the bench today).

 

Tyriek has to show some attacking intent eventually right?

Only because Bobby and Sarc are out. He is clearly 5th choice AM. Could argue 6th when Powell is fit.

 

I agree re Byrne and Kelly but jury still out for me on Kav. Im far from convinced and you may well prove to be correct but i think ha can give e us something. Time will tell I guess

 

Have to say that that team selection doesn't fill me with much confidence. Please prove me wrong GA!

 

It's why I desperately hope Powell is on a contract that gives both parties chance to reassess on Jan 1st - we need back up that available and reliable when Bobby, Sarse and Patto all missing at the same time

 

Byrne and Kelly 100%. Kavanagh we will see, Im not a huge fans but he deserves a chance to prove us doubters wrong.

Its frightening how Byrne and Kelly are BOTH still getting shirts despite signing 4 CBs in the summer.

 

Feels like he's picked a team for a massive ariel assault.

If that's the only thing people are expecting then there will be some surprises

They play not dissimilar to us in giving opposition not much time on the ball

 

I still think over the season he will have a part to play

A very small part when we are down to the bare bones. I like Lapslie but he is redundant when everybody is fit. He needs to take his chances now and convince GA he isnt just a body.
