I observed the handbags from the Turkish schwarma shop opposite.
I believe one or two undercover piggies began to ‘up the rucas’ in order to justify a much bigger police presence in that moment. I have a friend who used to work in the force and he told me it’s pretty much a tactic regularly employed in order to nip any potential trouble imminent.
You can always tell an undercover cop - no compassion in their eyes, far too clean cut for thugs and ultimately, bad acting.

 

So am I understanding you correctly that you believe 2 plain clothes officers were sent in deliberately to stir up the disorder thereby justifying an increased police presence? Think your mate is telling your porkies on that one.

 

Mate the do things to try and get a reaction
We had it at Accrington couple of season ago

We had one side road to drop down to the train station and you could clearly see the Accy fans heading our way down another street .............in full view if the plod now instead of blocking the Accy fans heading our way out for trouble ..........they decided to let them run at us the City fans reacted and the plod tried to blame us

 

The Bradford arms as away fans pub is stupid anyway...

Plus the Police don't help themselves. Countless away games we get herded out into oncoming home fans. Asking for trouble

 

I have only ever been in that pub once and it was many years ago. They had a TV sitting on an old unused pool table from memory. Never wanted to go again

 

Thought it was just me. I read it as they stir trouble up so they can nip it in the bud.

 

Meant more on the location vs the aesthetics of it.

 

It was one of our local go to pubs as youngsters. Despite what people say , around Manningham in those days there were dozens of pubs where one could get an underage pint, it was always busy .
