    l kept a glance on ER throughout yesterday's dirge. You would notice him sat with others just below the concourse, midway in the main stand.

    As the second half petered out he increasingly cut a remote and frustrated figure, pacing along the concourse, back and forth.

    Things on his mind? Surely? Either that or he really is a totally blinkered and deluded fool. Or worse, he actually is hell-bent on this madcap wrecking ball plan!
