    Been quiet for ages. Apologises to fans for being quiet, going to take more of a public role.....then at the first offering he doesn't have the time to talk. Honestly, you'd think he'd be bending over backwards to speak to the press and the fans to repair damage.....oh no, too busy and by the way Jamie can you tell them please, neither me or my CEO can do it.....absolutely laughable!!! His meetings are probably about the design of his rally car for next season....

    Haha, I dunno, he's probably mentioned a plan before in passing.

    "We have a plan, no doubt," or something equally vacuous. The concern is that plan is "get out of League Two" and not an actual plan. Guy is very aspirational, but not exactly renowned for putting in durable scaffolding.

    Funnily enough, read a YEP article about Hudders, and it was criticising them for talking about long term goals when all they really needed to do was scrap for survival as a low end Championship team. It seemed to suggest they lost sight of what they were.

    I kinda agree. Rahic and his development squad in League One was pure nonsense for me, but its one thing to set up expensive pink elephants and another to actually instil a workable identity at the club and make sure we have a base level of consistency running through the club and spanning seasons.

    While he wanted us to focus on younger players (without the knowledge or infrastructure to make such a plan work) I don't think we had a formal development squad under Rahic. That "initiative" was a Mark Lawn thing that left us, in the mans own words, with the worst first team squad in the clubs history.

    Thankfully Phil Parkinson managed to rescue us from that shitshow.

    Later, Rahic explains that we had no more use for back up players on loan when we had a development team/squad in place. It was filled with people like Tom Clare, Lachlan Barr, Joel Grodowski, and many other players none of us can remember.

    It was a tremendous waste of money and complete failure.

    That's not to excuse the Lawn effort, either, development squads are for affluent clubs in the Championship with development status and proper facilities.

    Rupp didn’t say he hasn’t had the time to talk but says there are going to be developments in the summer and will talk then. If he had an interview now the hotheads on here would simply dismiss anything he had to say. Let’s see what develops and you can slag him off again if nothing positive happens.

    Let's see what develops over the summer. I would be more interested in what Rupp has to say then, than now., when in fact not a lot has changed since his letter.

    Nowt wrong with a youth team at this level, but we're never getting the best young players year in, year out. Even if we do, they go elsewhere.

    A development squad filled with not-so-young players released by teams the division above, or the same division, is never gonna work.

    We are doing the right thing, IMO, with players like Pointon even we lose a lot of players who are even better. Hopefully if we reach the Championship and establish ourselves (big if!!!) we can start keeping those players.
