I think GA was silly for accepting the job.

He didn't seem to do his due diligence on the club (just like he didn't do his due diligence on MK Dons, either).

That is his fault, and if he gets sacked, it's still his fault.

But in that case, any manager is silly for taking the job with all the massive red flags, and so we'll just keep cycling through them pointlessly until a mega manager comes along who can last for a full season - at which point they, too, must go.

This is how dysfunctional we are - so blaming the manager is kind of shameful.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but it struck me on Saturday that at the final whistle, Alexander appeared to head straight to the officials to shake their hands, and then made a point of going round the Harrogate players to shake their hands, before just heading straight for the tunnel without really having any interaction with any of the City players. All rather odd.

He should either shut up about things he can not talk about and stop stirring the pot or talk about it.

Either shit or get off the loo

    Exactly.
What do you achieve by these sort of veiled messages?

Can’t see the point to be honest.

He probably just said it in the heat of the moment and to be fair there's no context to it. Sometimes journalists word.things, shall we say badly to be kind to them. And if he wasn't at liberty to say what they are maybe Parker should have just left it at than leaving the reply very much open to interpretation.

For Parker this was a scoop as he never has any 'cutting edge' journalistic information to pass on!

Some of its right some of it is space filling factless nonsense.
I’ll leave it to the smart which the factless ones are.

    I'd say two.
    Lack of football knowledge.
    Lack of football strategy.

The rest is either bad luck (the pitch), a by product of the first two (recruitment, communication) or just opinions rather than fact.

Precisely RT , however the elephant in the room, lack of “ investment to progress” as opposed to “ investing to stand still” .

Maybe it is all prelude to him leaving either through choice or via someone else's decision.

After several managers coming and going, some dropping hints, there can be no denying there is a problem causing the manager in charge to have problems doing their jobs as they would like,GA has dropped a big hint, us fans should be supporting him not calling for his departure

In the long term there are questions regarding stadium maintenance and the like which will need investment. The product on the pitch could always do with more, that's the same for any club, but with us it's more a case of how it's spent and the strategy that goes along with that. I've always said that it's too big a job for someone of Sparks experience, especially when the owner has no club about football matters and offers no advice as to where he wants the club to head other than to be effectively debt free other than his initial investment. If Rupp actually sat down with football people and garnered some advice he'd probably find it doesn't take that much to be successful at this level other than to be a well run club. The likes of Accrington and Morecambe showed what could be achieved with small crowds and limited budgets if you are organised and have the right people overseeing your company/business. He simply doesn't have that and he falls at the first hurdle, it's why I feel sorry in a sense for managers and players coming into the working environment at Valley Parade as it's doomed to fail before they've kicked a ball. Only so much a manager and his squad can do when there is no clear mandate from above them.

Is the problem that Sparks is a huge control freak and demands to much influence and control on the signing of players. Wright arriving out of the blue seemed to be a surprise to GA

Spot on. Even the lack of communication over the last few days and weeks shows Sparks is completely out of depth and that Rupp doesn't care.

They should be outlining what went wrong and how they are going to fix it.

It's crystal clear there's no strategy in place at the club on the footballing side.

I think they are in for a big shock with the season ticket numbers because I can't see more than 6k renewing at this rate and it's very difficult to get people back once they've found something else to do.
